Allowed sites reset

Post by SteveS801 »

I've looked through the forums and all FAQs, but have not found an applicable solution, nor have I seen this problem posted before. If I'm wrong, please point me in the direction you know it to be.

Every once in a while (can't determine a schedule) it appears that NS resets some (but not all) sites that have been previously allowed through. I'm not sure if this is after an extension update, after FX updates or what else would be causing it. It's not after reboot, Windows update nor a monthly result. The sites that had their permission revoked are not always the same sites.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I don't want to have to keep re-adding sites.

FX 72.0.2 (64)

This keep happening to me, too for quite some time now. Have not figured out why but every now and then some, not all, top level domains, that I specifically allowed, are not allowed any more. Even Google's servers settings keep getting reset.
Help would be much appreciated.

Well, I've sort of had it and disabled NoScript for now.

Do you mean every single one gone at once?
Are you using Firefox Sync or the Tor Browser?
How many sites, more or less, in your permanent configuration?

Giorgio, thank you for responding so quickly.

No, not all the settings from the white list are gone, just some and usually the ones that are really needed globally, some 'important' top domains, such as google (not just the global google.com, syndication and others, too, facebook, etc. They just keep resetting, some of them on the next day or after few days time.

I use Firefox Sync, tor browser is not in use very often and is not synced with Firefox sync account.

I also tried removing the NoScript add-on and reinstalling it, but the same issue keeps coming up.

Some of the domains, that were whitelisted and vanished in the last few days, are: github, githubassets, amazon.com, amazon-media.com, google-analytics.com, redbubble.com, polyfill.io,, archive.org, drupal.org, quora.com, quoracdn.net, siol.net, vecer.com, rtvslo.si, jwplatform.com, googletagmanager.com, onthe.io, etc.

Could you please share with me your NoScript Options>Export file (which, BTW, could be used also to backup your configuration just in case)?
Also, does your Browser Console (ctrl+shift+J) contains any error message related to Sync (just use "sync" as a filter)?
Thanks!

Yes, I know that I can export all the settings into a file.
Here is an export of all current NoScript settings: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kqlUd ... fOg_ehmXsU
And export of the error console, related to sync: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_rafC ... E_i5koWvHz
Thank you :)

Another thing that I noticed is that the same issue started occurring on my Windows tablet computer and a laptop, both using Firefox Sync, but per-site permissions perhaps do not get removed as often as on this desktop computer that I use the most.
Does it have something to do with the latest versions of Firefox?
Is there a way to remove NoScript, completely reset all NoScript settings, install it anew, and start over to see if this helps?

Hi there.
Recently I re-enabled the NoScript addon and everything seems to work fine now and remembers all per-site settings.
Thank you!
