What version of NoScript?
Where are you getting it from, Chome "store" or elsewhere?

Error (or otherwise) messages given?

Do they have an override option?

Yep, that's correct and expected.
Beta versions are currently packaged and signed only for Firefox.
The .zip files available in the Github beta releases can be unzipped locally and installed as unpacked development-mode extensions in Chrome / Chromium, though.
