Google Video + NoScript + RedirectRemover

Post by mcc »

Hi,

I am using NoScript (current version) in combination with redirect remover (v.: 2.5.3).

I am not able to use Google video even after NoScript Options were reset.

Warning: Expected declaration but found '/'. Skipped to next declaration.
Source File: http://video.google.de/s/Hygj3cWczgw/cs ... ults_c.css
Line: 2
The error console show the following:
Warning: Error in parsing value for property 'text-decoration'. Declaration dropped.
Source File: http://video.google.de/s/Hygj3cWczgw/cs ... ults_c.css
Line: 2
Warning: Selector expected. Ruleset ignored due to bad selector.

Line: 2
Error: storeCaret is not defined

Line: 1

This is only an smal part of it, these messages were repeated over and over...
By the way: After entering google video, everything looks find -- you have to search for
something twice or more...

Do I have to "Tear down the Wall" before I can use google video?

Thank you very much for any help in advance!
Kind regards,
mcc

Those messages are unrelated to your problem (are due to poor CSS coding on the Google site).
Google Video is working fine for me.
Does the site work for you after disabling either NoScript or RedirectRemover?

Hi Giorgio,

thank you very much for your superfast response ! :)

I disabled Redirect Remover with NoScript installed: Google Video does not work
Then enabled Redirect Remover and disabled NoScript installed: Google Video worked.

For calling Google video I use this bookmark directly:
http://video.google.de/videoadvancedsearch

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.19 with Linux (current and updated Gentoo) and
kernel 2.6.29.0. My PC uses an Athlon XP 3800+ X2 CPU and 3G RAM.

Kind regard,

Are "google.com", "google.de" and "youtube.com" all whitelisted as they should?

The whitelist is that one, which do exist after "Reset options" of NoScript.
By the way: Is generally whitelisting such sites a good idea?...

If you need to watch the videos, you need to whitelist Youtube at least.
If you don't feel comfortable with doing that permanently, you can use Temporary allow...

I don't have Youtube whitelisted permanently and never would as I don't use it that much, but as Giorgio said, when I absolutely need to use it, I temporary allow the particular video I am trying to reach, all works well, then I undo and move along. Works without a hitch.
