Manual Import/Export of settings

Post by mhome »

Hi,

I made an export of the NoScript settings and created a file "noscript_data.txt" .
Now I would like to do a manual import of these settings NOT using im Import-button because I've to do that on several machines without any user intervention. Is there any way to realize that ?

Thanks

Hackish, very, I'd say...

NoScript stores its' settings in webappsstore.sqlite in your Profile folder
So if you exit FF & copy that file replacing existing versions in your other machines

Like I say, hackish

And then NoScript is not the sole owner of webappsstore.sqlite, as in other extensions (or whatever) can store their data in there too, so while you are copying "NoScript settings", you may also be copying other unwanted extension (or whatever) settings too

(Can NoScript store its' settings in its own container?
Remember the days of .ini files.
And then .ini went bye bye & the [Windows] Registry was used.
But then Mozilla decided to throw everyone out of the Registry, err, prefs.js.
And webappsstore.sqlite was born.
But then uBo uses ublock0.sqlite?
Bring back my .ini!)

WebExtensions, much like regular web pages, cannot write any file to the filesystem, except for user-initiated and mostly interactive "downloads" (like when you use the "Export" button).

how about to store "webappsstore.sqlite" at a network folder (e.g. cloud connected) and symlink this into the profil ?
