allow scripts globally, magically flips turns off

Post by funderific »

So randomly I would get
forbid scripts globally
flipped on

So I would "allow scripts globally" and be on my way,
good for an hour, or good for a day , or a week or longer

but this past week, its been more frequent,
and especially just right now,
it flipped 20 times in 10 minutes

allow scripts globally, magically flips turns off

weird and annoying and weird

As an aside, InformAction Forums • View topic - Scripts globally allowed
is kinda confusing,
cause I'm mostly using noscript to block the "embeddings" , and allow scripts globally works with that, so, ... setting changes are bad

What is your setting of about:config > noscript.tempGlobal ?
If false, do you have a user.js or lockpref file?

noscript.tempGlobal;false

I dont have a user.js but I do have a prefs.js it has no lockPref entries,
I will see about setting that next time it starts flipping on/off

thanks

Just noticed you seem to be using Firefox 34. If this is accurate, it's not surprising you have issues with NoScript 5.x. Please either upgrade your browser or install the last compatible NoScript version as listed on https://noscript.net/getit.

Fair enough
I frequently check for updates on my addons,
but that did not get me https://secure.informaction.com/downloa ... .1.8.5.xpi
I have done that now manually
Thanks

Per https://noscript.net/getit#older, Firefox 34 needs NoScript 2.9.0.14.

:) actual firefox version is 52.7.3 (esr updates are automatic), my previous noscript was noscript-5.1.8.4

a while back youtube was being annoying so I modified general.useragent.override
