Yup, it's now 'normal' size again. Although I would stay it's still a bit bigger than it was before, which I don't mind, but don't prefer.

All in all, thanks for the quick turn-around, that's some fast bug-fixing right there.

Re: [FIXED] UI appears overly large (HiDPI issue?)

Post by aliburda »

Tried 10.1.5.9 and the core issue appears to be fixed.

The UI is still larger that it was before though; although it might be by design, it causes entries to span over two lines if one as a particularly long domain names:

This result in a lot of extra downward scrolling compared to previous version.

Yes, some change causes the buttons to take up to 3 rows per entry again:
10.1.5.8rc2 had this
10.1.5.8 was fine
10.1.5.9 has this again

I don't think the issue has been fully fixed. In 10.1.5.9, I'm seeing this:

You might have to right-click on the image and select "View Image" to see the whole thing, including the vertical scrollbar.

It literally takes up more than one quarter of the screen, is misaligned (because of the scrollbar?), has way too much white space, the gray tabs are too intrusive (and I'm not sure why they're rendered in this stylized way).

Gosh, these CSS issues can really drive you mad. Despite the fact that there are style resets and the possibility to set ideally DPI agnostic length units (cm), this still doesn't work well. 10cm on my Linux Laptop look nothing like the 10cm on my Windows Desktop with separate screen. And not even talking about different browsers.

10.1.6 fixes it.

Same here. The gray tabs are still god-awful, everything is still too large, there's still too much white space, but there's no line wrapping going on anymore.

Hello. I have exactly the same problem with a NoScript v10 GUI (please see: "NoScript v10: very large fonts (GUI).") Generally, it started to happen a few editions back. Even now, with the latest NoScript v10.1.6 and Firefox v57.0.1 (32-bit) this problem still occurs.

In my case, this issue occurs on the Linux system (x86 architecture) with nVidia graphic card (GeForce 7100) etc. If it's about screen/monitor: according to the system Settings it's a Sony 15" with 1024x768 resolution. That's just some basic information. If more accurate informations/details are needed, please let me know. But generally:

✗ Platform: Linux (x86)
✗ Graphic card: nVidia (GeForce 7100)
✗ NoScript: v10.1.6
✗ Firefox: v57.0.1 (32 bit)

I would like to apologize you all for writing a separate thread about this issue. I just overlooked this thread :- (

Thanks.

Hi bo elam. Thank You for an answer, but unfortunately nothing has changed. It was even worse - the screen looked as if it moved to the left side a bit, but NoScript menu fonts and - for example - DEFAULT button etc., were the same as in my previous thread (please see: "NoScript v10: very large fonts (GUI)."

So, no luck and solution for now. I hope, that something will change in the future NoScript releases.

Giorgio, my UI has never gotten to be huge, gigantic or anything extremely large but I like this one better. This is what the UI looks for me with 10.1.6.1rc1

Hi. Mr. Giorgio thank You for an answer and it seems that GUI in v10.1.6.1rc1 version looks way better (please see screen). Although in earlier versions, the main window was a little... shorter. Now, it's almost half of the address bar. Anyway, it seems to be fixed :- ) Thanks one more time.

Merry Christmas, Mr. Giorgio.

Hi. I apologize for writing post by post, but I would like to mention or propose something: some fonts - for example - "Allow" font (see screen-v10.1.6.1rc1 and [DEFAULT] option) could be 10-15 percent larger. Now, with a new -rc release, it's pretty small and not very legible. But that's just my own, personal opinion.

Earlier (see; "NoScript v10: very large fonts (GUI)." thread) all fonts were too big, now they are too small. I mean an "Allow" font etc. Could it be made larger? What do You think, Mr Maone? What do the other users think about it? Your opinions are very important, since it concerns us all, right? :- )

Thanks.
