How to allow/whitelist all HTTPS sites in new NoScript?

Post by rugk »

In the Firefox 57 version of NoScript there seems to be no way of enabling/whitelisting all HTTPS content. In the old version I could either do this by just adding "https://" to the whitelist or (prefered) via a special setting in the advanced options.

I tried to enter "https://*" or "https://" in the new whitelist UI, but it does not accept that. So if you have not implemented it yet, or you just disable the "+" button too "fast", so maybe just allow me to add "https://" to the whitelist, if that works.

I think right now (re-)enabling this function is not on the top-of-the-list for the developer.

Not that you don't have a valid request, but thinking outside of the box:

Aren't you served better by something like:
http://tanalin.com/en/projects/consistent-https/
or possibly
https://github.com/gorhill/uMatrix

I mean, you want to enforce https-only, which is not the main purpose of NS (although you did have a way for it to do that).

Okay, possibly uMatrix can also do this, but NoScript had this feature – even as an extra checkbox.
I mean to implement this it would not even need a whole new feature. They'd just need to accept "https://*" as an input.

And that other add-on does not help me. I just want to prevent all javascript on HTTPS sites.
