[FIX] Fx 56 - NoScript icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
Re: [Fix] Fx 56 - NoScript icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
Hi,
this is the first time I saw problems with NoScript and not a very big one, I assume.
Today I also recognized the symbol missing (FF56, Win10, 64 bit). Also, I was noticed by NoScript that the currently installed version is outdated and I installed the addon with the new version 5.1.2 again.
The symbol re-appeared and no further issues so far. I hope the addon will work after the new FF update to ver 57.
Keep up your great work with this great and really important addon.

Firefox 56 showstopper
In Firefox 56 there is a big issue where i have NoScript installed, it shows installed in extensions, it actively works, but does not show on status bar - which makes it pretty much a problem because I am unable to enable scripts for a site it's blocking. I tried going into the Toolbar but there is no Add Ons toolbar and/or no option in the View->Toolbars->Customize for any add-ons what so ever.
I have found that by re-installing NoScript every time I restart Firefox I can get the toolbar back. I imagine this is part of the move to "more secure extensions," but at the same time, it's really a show stopper.

Re: FX 55 - no script icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
I've had this bug too, I found I could fix it by disabling Noscript from within the addons menu, restarting firefox, re-enabling noscript and restarting again.
I wonder if the "safe browsing version 4" add-on (mozilla made this appear as a "study" in firefox on my system, I'm not sure what these studes are about but I've heard bad rumours about one being done with something called cliqz) might have caused this issue?

Re: Fx 56 - NoScript icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
Hmm must be a NS bug, I'm running FF 55.03 since it was releasedVerteron wrote:Just experienced this myself and found out it was because the latest FF update had not applied like usual.
That's probably why the safe mode trick worked, because it triggered the FF update.
So,not a bug with NS
I stopped FF automatic updates for the reason that I don't want to loose legacy add-on's like NoScript and AddBlock Plus, since they might not work from FF 57 ....
But the automatic add-on update killed NS as other describe here ....

After you restart in safe mode, you then need to close the browser and reopen it again.

I removed and re-installed NoScript add-on and that restored the primary button but I still am missing other ones like the Revoke Temporary Permissions button that I used to be able to add to the menu bar on the bottom
I am using FF 55.0.3 because every update seems to mess up another add-in or other function so I'm waiting a while.
