All my Firefox 55.0.3 extensions just disappeared. like they had never been installed. This is the 2nd computer this has happened on. All my settings and my whitelist were gone when I reinstalled no-script. So I'm thinking I should go looking for the raw files before I reinstall this time? Where are they?
Thanks
Firefox addins are just gone. Where is the whitelist stored?

That is not right.Suncoast wrote:All my Firefox 55.0.3 extensions just disappeared. like they had never been installed. This is the 2nd computer this has happened on. All my settings and my whitelist were gone when I reinstalled no-script.
Do you use CCleaner or some similar program?
Have you checked if your security software (antivirus, firewall, etc) is interfering?
NoScript settings are stored in prefs.js. If you want to save only the NoScript settings, you can also use the Export button *on the very bottom* of NoScript Options.Suncoast wrote:So I'm thinking I should go looking for the raw files before I reinstall this time? Where are they?
Extensions are stored in the "extensions" subfolder of your profile.

Now on a 3rd PC. Except this PC has Avira installed and there is something left behind. Print Screen- http://ww2.flausa.net/noscript.jpg However no active no-script. This is the only one upgraded to Windows 10. The others are new.
No refresh, no reinstall. No cleaners under this user profile. These are all HP Windows 10 Pro logging into a Server 2012 domain as roaming profiles. Various users have their own logins on these computers. Only 2 users on these dispatch computers. I am the 2nd user every day.

I know nothing about it, but possibly sync if you're using that?
Click the Extensions line.
Backups, you would have had to have done ahead of time.
Or if you OS does such things for you?
That is a listing of Recent Updates - not necessarily all the extensions you have installed. Now on a 3rd PC. Except this PC has Avira installed

Thank you barbaz. I put together both your posts and I figured it out.barbaz wrote:That is not right.Suncoast wrote:All my Firefox 55.0.3 extensions just disappeared. like they had never been installed. How they got this way is apparently a mystery.
Thanks
Ok, so here is what I did. I copied the much larger
C:\Users\steve.COC2\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\cl02l1n7.default\prefs.js
dated 08/31/17 into the folder
C:\Users\steve.COC2\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\y7oww21i.default\prefs.js
overwriting the dated today pref.js.
The second folder with the newer files had files that appear to be for NoScript, but NoScript is not loading. I only see a message that says "Missing something? Some plug-ins are no longer supported by Firefox. Learn more (link)" I have no idea if this is related. So I (re)install NoScript, got 5.0.9. Copied the prefs.js file again, and everything appears back to normal including my old whitelist.
