NoScript ignoring whitelist
NoScript ignoring whitelist
I was using NoScript with Firefox and my power went out briefly. When I opened up Firefox again, every whitelist I ever made is gone as though I just installed it fresh again. I checked the prefs.js file and I see all the whitelisted sites still there, I can also see all of them in the whitelist tab yet I can visit a site that I see on my whitelist and everything is blocked. What gives? This isn't the first time I've lost power while I had Firefox open, yet this time it has ruined everything with this extension. All my other extensions are working fine, it's only this one giving me problems now.

Re: NoScript ignoring whitelist
In the Whitelist tab, try adding another site. Click OK. Does that get everything back working?

Re: NoScript ignoring whitelist
I went to a new site that I didn't have in my whitelist, added it, then closed and reopened Firefox but looks like it is still blocking sites I have formerly whitelisted.

Re: NoScript ignoring whitelist
Can you please export your full NoScript config (use the Export button *on the very bottom* of NoScript Options) and PM me the result?

Re: NoScript ignoring whitelist
This issue is not caused by NoScript. Your settings work fine for me in Firefox 54.0, new profile, NoScript 5.0.8.1. I browsed some pages on wikipedia.org and scripts were enabled.
Please try Standard Diagnostic (leaving NoScript enabled) to isolate and correct the problem.
Let us know, thanks.

Re: NoScript ignoring whitelist
I tried disabling extensions leaving NoScript enabled, deleting and resetting NoScript and importing my whitelist, and I created a new profile where I only installed NoScript and imported my whitelist and the same behavior is still present. Is the next step to uninstall/reinstall Firefox? I don't get how this extension seems to be working fine, yet completely doesn't read the whitelist. When I re-whitelist already whitelisted sites it's not like it adds a duplicate entry in, but it's just not seeing what I've already got in there.

Re: NoScript ignoring whitelist
Are the site URLs showing up correctly if you click the NoScript button? There have been very recent changes in prefs support which resulted in a complete breakage of NoScript.

This is what I see when I click the NoScript extension. Is this what you're talking about?

GreenReaper, the OP is not using Nightly. The thread you linked is irrelevant to the issue at hand here.GreenReaper wrote:There have been very recent changes in prefs support which resulted in a complete breakage of NoScript.

Re: NoScript ignoring whitelist
Well, I reinstalled Firefox and I renamed the old installation folder and it still doesn't work. I looked at my Whitelist and I swear it looks far far smaller than I remember it now. Some sites I am absolutely positive were whitelisted are not in there. But yet it has other sites I'm positive I haven't visited in months that are whitelisted. Why would this be? What could possibly have caused some of my whitelist (including things like Google, etc.) to get deleted but many others were left untouched. I almost wonder if it deleted every domain after the letter F or G or something. The top most sites I haven't visited in a long time but are fine, but as I look closer it looks like most of the whitelist is stuff I have visited recently and re-whitelisted.
What's even more, I just checked after exporting my whitelist and then re-importing one from several days ago. The latest one is actually smaller! You can very clearly see all the numeric ones are still there on my older file and I think all my domains down to the letter B are there and then everything after that were ones I had to re-add. What on earth is deleting my whitelist? It's certainly not me, but it's ruining the functionality of this extension to me.

Re: NoScript ignoring whitelist
To be clear, only existing whitelisted sites have this problem, and newly whitelisted sites are totally fine for you, correct?
If you import your NoScript settings in a clean profile in a different Windows user account, do you get the same problem?
Also, did you go through this part of the standard diagnostic? - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diag ... _solutions
