Union Bank blocked by NoScript

If I disable the add-on NoScript then I have no problem accessing (logging in and interfacing with website) my Union Bank account.

But with NoScript enabled and I have not blocked any site requests (both unionbank.com and coremetrics.com, the only two requests) once I am logged into the website the initial page will not load (all I get is progress indicator, never ending circle, without anything else happening).

So it appears just using the NoScript add-on causes something to prevent access to my Union Bank account.

Anyone else that may have an account with this bank have the same issue using this log-in page: https://sso.unionbank.com/obc/forms/login.fcc

I am using NoScript v 2.9.0.14 in Pale Moon 27.1.2 browser (it is my understanding that NoScript builds past this have issues, including pre-5 involving pages not loading after changes made and other issues w/ v5), which is why I'm using the v 2.9.0.14 that I am....

Follow-up: Upon further testing, I've found no problem with IE browser not using NoScript.

So to determine if the issue is browser related I tested in FF with NoScript and found the site to work okay as well.

So the problem appears to be related to NoScript 2.9.0.14 (not blocking any NoScript requests) used in the Palemoon 27.1.2 browser, and the fact that the website works okay in Palemoon 27.1.2 with NoScript disabled would suggest that there is apparently a compatibility issue in regards to using this version of NoScript in the current Pale Moon release for this specific website.

Any suggestions?

Yes, use NoScript 5.0.1. :) The only Pale Moon specific bug in NoScript 5.0.1 is viewtopic.php?f=10&t=22539

Also, when the issue occurs, do you see anything related in the Browser Console? (Ctrl-Shift-J)
(if you don't know what's related, turn off CSS warnings and post everything else you see)

NS v5 is not fully compatible with PM 27 browser (users have reported issues as well): https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.ph ... 30#p108470 (one example among many)

As to the reload problem, as I understand it this issue has been a problem (at least in PM) since NS v2.9.5.3, which is the reason I'm using NS v2.9.0.14 (which btw, other PM users are using as well for the same reason).

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check out the remainder of suggestions when I get the time (busy this afternoon). ;)

Those "many" users can't have actually tested it, can they? - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22524

I couldn't really say, some are posting it works in PM however others are saying there are problems and I'm seeing this in the NoScript forum (that corresponds to some posts in the PM forum):

Also has this reload issue been tested in the new PM release in regards to your post (last one) in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=22539#p87030 ? From what I've read the reload issue remains (which I don't have a problem with in my NS version). At some point perhaps I'll give v5 a try (if for no reason than to see if doing so resolves the Union Bank issue), but to be honest am bit reluctant with all the confusion as to whether it will work with PM27 as good as what I'm using now (I'd rather have an issue with one website as opposed to potentially multiple issues).

That abominable problem with the "Oops something went wrong....." inherent to this forum (that back-page doesn't resolve) wiping out everything I posted (and for some reason the "Form History" add-on that saved me so many times using this board doesn't seem to be working as it should, so I had to reenter all over again ugh ). I know the problem, I tried to use the "Font colour" option to help clarify, my bad as I forgot this board has unresolved issues in this regard...

Here's what I get on the Browser Console at the point when the Union Bank website hangs with the progress indicator stuck just spinning and the page fails to load (I won't change font color to help clarify this time), so the Browser Console results is all of the remaining text posted below where we see the "no element found yql:1:1" looping as the page continues to display the spinning progress indicator until I finally give up and close the browser tab (which is a problem that only occurs in PM27 using NS 2.9.0.14):

That post was immediately followed up with this -

Neither does SeaMonkey.

I did actually test it before writing this -

No, Pale Moon 27.2 is not released yet. I'd be happy to test it when Pale Moon 27.2 becomes beta.

EDIT Wait, where did the beta download page go? :?

Actually I've been referring to the v27.1.2 which is the most recent production release that I have .

Cool, that last rule set you posted works like a charm Image (that is dropping the ".sso" reference in the two "Accept" rule lines). What I had before got me past my PWD step that was previously failing, so I figured the rule set was okay not thinking that subsequent page rendering issues would also be due to the rule set upon loading the banks actual account page. :o

So until next time, many thanks barbaz, I just wish the ABE rules interface was more intuitive....

FYI follow-up, back to the topic of NSv5 -- There would still appear to be compatibility issues with PM27.x as illustrated here in a post in a PM forum topic just in the past 3-days Re: Noscript update more precisely:
Lootyhoof wrote:... Additionally, note that version 5.0 is not fully compatible with us anyway due to including WebExtension code.

If the developer wants to produce a version specific for Pale Moon, the following can be used with regards to where such a version can be hosted (so we can get updates properly):

http://developer.palemoon.org/Add-ons:Site
Presumably the "WebExtension code" included in NSv5 is problematic for PM27.
OFF TOPIC wrote:"Font Colour" continues to produce: "Ooops, something in your posting triggered my antispam filter... Please use the "Back" button to modify your content and retry." filter problems wiping out what was posted. Perhaps if the forum cannot "fix" this the "Font colour" option should be removed from the board. (I was unable to highlight via Font Color hence underlined the applicable comment)

That last comment you quoted was addressed here - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22623
lakrsrool wrote:Presumably the "WebExtension code" included in NSv5 is problematic for PM27.
Presumably the Pale Moon guys didn't actually test it before posting.

What they don't seem to realise is that supported browser SeaMonkey also has zero support for WebExtensions. Zero. Yet NoScript 5.0.2rc1 works well here in both SeaMonkey and Pale Moon. And Giorgio has confirmed that NoScript 5 will continue to be compatible with the traditional extension system for as long as possible.

Given all that, how problematic can the use of embedded WebExtension really be for non-WebExtensions browsers?

Seriously, if you're concerned about it, just back up your Pale Moon profile before testing. Completely quit Pale Moon, then copy C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Moonchild Productions somewhere safe.
