2.9.5.2 only works on about: pages

Post by jawz101 »

on 2.9.5.2 it looks like Noscript only works on about: pages but does not work on any other website.

For example, on this forum or anywhere on the Internet, the icon graphic is the first icon in the FAQ https://noscript.net/faq#qa1_13
"this means that scripts and plugin contents are blocked for the current site and its subframes. Even if some of the 3rd party script sources imported by the page may be in your whitelist, no code could run because the hosting documents are not enabled."

My only options are about NoScript, Options, Allow Scripts Globally (dangerous), and Revoke Temporary Permissions.

On about: pages, however, I get the 2nd to last icon and all of the typical script trusting menu items are available, xss alerts, etc on about: pages.

it appears as though NoScript is flipped to only work on local pages but not external sites but only if I am running all e10s compatible addons. The second I install a non-multiprocess compatible add-on and e10s turns off everything works correctly.

Split from viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22386 as this appears to be a totally different problem.

So you tried 2.9.5.2rc1 and it doesn't work for you either?

Looks like that one works. Wait... it does on this tab once I restarted but then I opened a 2nd tab and it was still acting borked.

This is the 1st time I've tried going full e10s compatible addons.

Please create a clean profile from scratch. Install only NoScript latest development build, leaving all the defaults.
Does the problem still exist?
If not, what if you then import your NS settings into the clean profile using the Import and Export buttons *on the very bottom* of NS Options?

If the problem still doesn't exist, please enable e10s in this new profile. Does it show up then?

I've reinstalled FFox completely as well as completely deleting my profile with same result.
Tried on both my Windows box at work and Linux box at home.

What does about:support say about e10s (Multiprocess Windows line)?

Multiprocess Windows 1/1 (Enabled by default)

Well, update, last night I reinstalled FFox and deleted my old profile on my Linux box. I also uninstalled FFox on my Windows box at work and installed it from PortableApps and both are working now. Don't ask me why o_0

I'm wondering if something in my about:config was syncing with Firefox Sync and hosing it up but I have no idea. I was hoping I'd at least be able to pinpoint something if it ever crops up for others.

If you disable e10s, does the issue still exist?
