Videos keep popping up noscript warning
Hello, I keep getting these warning attempts anytime I play a video(I allow the script) and I forward the video or click pause or anywhere on the video... It happens on every single video on anywhere that isn't youtube....
I decided to report it, so here's my Report ID: 667723.
The page in question was from ww1.gogoanime.io but this happens on any webpage that has videos that isn't from youtube... Like youtube videos can always be without complaints... but anything else does...
Thing is, it doesn't always happen, even on the same video, sometimes I can drag the thing and I won't get any problem, but if I mess with it again, it'll pop up...
So I wanted to clarify if there are any kind of false positives/negatives?

Yep. Only Giorgio has access to the reports, so only he can tell you whether yours is a false positive or not.FiddlingFiddler wrote:So I wanted to clarify if there are any kind of false positives/negatives?

Giorgio is the Administrator of this forum and the only NoScript developer. He'll probably see this thread.
If he doesn't reply here in a week, please post in this thread again.

Re: Videos keep popping up noscript warning
Well, nothing. Nothing you or I can do about a response or lack thereof - except to hope that somewhere along the line that a feature will be improved. (And that is not to imply that sending the reports is meaningless - because it is not.)
Anyhow, you can add an exception (don't ask again, or whatever the dialog says).
Anyhow... I open, http://ww1.gogoanime.io/folktales-from- ... pisode-245, Allow:
+sharepoint.com
+vidstreaming.io
+gogoanime.io
& the clip plays - without issue - on my end.
I have seen odd times where I do get a ClearClick warning, where it appears that I get it do to some positioning (like partially offscreen) of the video clip.

That is not normal.any webpage that has videos that isn't from youtube
As a test, create a new, clean Profile.
Install only NoScript.
Visit these sites where you regularly get the ClearClick warning & see if they persist.

Re: Videos keep popping up noscript warning
Ehh, yesterday I was on ebay and I kept getting xss or something hacking warning. I don't know what it exactly said, I just know it had an x followed by two other letters.therube wrote:That is not normal.any webpage that has videos that isn't from youtube

It was anytime I went on ebay and went on any item pages. Not the mains, or search, or help or forums. Just those pages. Youtube doesn't give me any trouble at all. I can fiddle with it all I want and it won't go off.
What do you mean by create a new clean profile? I also have the noscript on comodo icedragon and I still get the issues sometimes. Then again, it's a separate browser meant for "Different" things. I even use that browser to go to pages that you would consider more likelier to be bugged with stuff if you know what I mean... and I mean I got a virus once, but that was from one specific site, and the other sites ive been going to for two or three years now, and no clearclick warnings. nothing. but ive never tried to go to the anime site on there.
---
Scratch that. I just went on gogoanime.io on my comodoice dragon and I get no issue on there... I've also constantly clicked the donot show again prompt on this browser, but it only works for the time i am watching that video (i.e. if i refresh it, or change pages it reverts).
I just tried it in two videos and messed around.
Should I just uninstall it, and reinstall it or what?
On both I use ghostery as well, and randomagentspoofer or something(it changes your ip thing)
on this one i have adblock plus, googletranslator, and video download helper.
Both have same settings as well.

Re: Videos keep popping up noscript warning
eBay often has behavior that looks like XSS (and it has had its share of real XSS vulnerabilities, too...)
Next time you see the warning, you could copy the full message (from the Browser Console) and post it here; we might be able to give advice. Depending on what's triggering it, Giorgio might also be able to refine the filter.
