How to configure NoScript for Goodsearch search engine?

Post by drdebsmith »

I am new to NoScript, and have had trouble with a few sites. Goodsearch (Goodsearch.com) is a search engine that donates 1 penny to a non-profit of your choice for every search you make on that site. It is powered by Yahoo search, I believe. But when I enter a search term in the box now, I get a blank page with no idea how to make the content show up. I don't have this problem with Google, Bing, or Yahoo search engines, just with Goodsearch. Is there a way to configure NoScript to get around this?

Code: Select all

[NoScript HTTPS] Redirected Channel https://us.yhs4.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?p=ncmain.exe&fr=goodsearch-yhsif&b=1
Setting the Pref, noscript.httpsDefWhitelist to 'false' gets around it.
I don't know the consequences of doing that?
This has come up before.

Further I don't know just which domains might be needed to be allowed on goodsearch, much less for the pennies to flow through (as in you might need to allow more then just goodsearch.com ?) [If they have some way for you to track things, that might tell you if you've got it correct or not?]
