Firefox Nightly 50.0a - Noscript (release and dev), allow nw

Post by Who »

Something is wrong I am using the firefox nightly builds and noscript no longer works, it seems to block fine, but when I add a site to Allow or temporary allow it's still blocked, for example my router dd-wrt page no text or anything shows so I add it to allow and it still looks the same, the noscript icon is white showing it's not blocking -but it is, the only way to restore functionality is to set noscript to allow scripts globally..

This seems to have happened in the last few nightly builds, I have tried the no script "reset" and still same.

What model router?

Other then your router have you run into websites that react similarly?

If you disable all other extensions except for NoScript, does the issue persist?
(Or use a new Profile with only NoScript installed.)

Anything of note referenced in Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J)?

Cisco EA6500 v1 using the latest ddwrt.
I just used the router webpage as an example but it happens on any site, I add a site to the allow list but Javascript is still disabled for that site, the noscript icon is white showing nothing is blocked,

for example the Paypal login page, I allowed the site and it still shows
NOTE: Many features on the PayPal Web site require Javascript and cookies.

the only way to fix this is by going to noscript and allowing scripts globally -

I disabled all other addon(s) and E10 is disabled, In noscript I also did Options - Rest.

btw I just re-installed my OS a day or two ago, so it could be a issue where I copied my profile over from my old windows install - though I always do this and usually never have any problems, if you are unable to reproduce it then maybe it is something with my ff profile.

Same thing happens for me in Nightly, but it only seems to happen in private browsing mode.

Dev Build blocking all JavaScript in Firefox Nightly

Post by khamikaze »

Hello Everyone,

NoScript Dev Build is incorrectly blocking all JavaScript in all/any sites when enabled in the latest Firefox Nightly 64-bit versions in the past few weeks.
NoScript has not changes lately but a few weeks ago this issue started to happen.
I do update Firefox Nightly almost every day.

Yes, I already reported this to Mozilla:

https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedbac ... ox/50.0a1/

, but it is still not working.
Funny that even this page above does not work if NoScript is enabled.

Anyways, I want to let you know in case Mozilla says it is NoScript.

At this point, of course I do not know who broke what.

Could you please take a look at your side?

Thanks,

e10 enabled or not?
Have you tested with it both ways?

Hi, e10 was enabled. I just tested it with e10 disabled and it does not work either.

What else?

Thanks

I disable private browsing mode and it seems to work.

The thread about not working only in private mode is viewtopic.php?f=10&t=21946

Is anyone in this thread seeing this issue while *not* being in private mode?

Hmmm... Yes, I always user Private Mode and yes, I just tested it without Private Mode and yes, it works.

Does that tell anything if the issue is in Firefox or NoScript?

Just thought I should note, I also exclusively use private mode for browsing so like everyone else said it's probably related to something that changed in private mode, hopefully the devs can fix it or figure it out.

I have temporarily switched to uMatrix until noscript gets sorted.

Just a small update.

This doesn't ONLY affect private windows. It affects Firefox's new feature that lets you open the same site in different containers(Personal, work, etc) too, while not in a private window. I imagine it was the introduction of this feature that caused the bug.
