[FIXED] Noscript Flash click to play & Firefox 45 issue?
Re: Noscript Flash click to play & Firefox 45 issue?
FWIW, this issue is NOT present on NoScript 2.9.0.7rc2 on a SeaMonkey build based on Firefox 45.0.1 release

Heh. Had to look back to see what the thread was about, so HTML5 may not really apply here.Any different with HTML5?I force Flash
Anyhow, did you check the mlb.com link from the OP?
The same happens if Flash is set to Always, but your Forbid Flash with NoScript.

Re: Noscript Flash click to play & Firefox 45 issue?
People said it applied to even full-page Flash documents, so I had tried that as well (off my local server) with the same results.
Didn't try the link from the OP because it wasn't baseball I wanted at that moment

OK, (a dated Nightly) works:

Re: Noscript Flash click to play & Firefox 45 issue?
Those are my settings also. Flash in Firefox Add-Ons is set to Always Activate but I use Noscript embeddings to block (with apply to whitelisted - everything checked in embedding except no place holder and collapse) so I can then click to play.therube wrote:The same happens if Flash is set to Always, but your Forbid Flash with NoScript.
My results are that clicking on Flash, or any blocked object, then just loads it full page as it acts as if one clicked a link making the clicked object the whole page. If that is what you meant anyway. This is above my knowledge level.barbaz wrote:People said it applied to even full-page Flash documents, so I had tried that as well (off my local server) with the same results.

Apologies for my ignorance. Does that mean this will automatically fix itself via a future Firefox release or NoScript 2.9.0.7?therube wrote:OK, (a dated Nightly) works:

And an update to my Hulu issue. I am grateful to say that something in Firefox 45.0.1 fixed it. I have no idea what broke going from 44.0.2 to 45 but Hulu is now working normally in 45.0.1 for me. Yay.

Re: Noscript Flash click to play & Firefox 45 issue?
All it mean is that if you decide to switch to SeaMonkey this problem will likely disappear
If you rather stick with Firefox, just ignore that part.

Appears this may have resolved itself with NoScript 2.9.0.8rc1 ?

Re: Noscript Flash click to play & Firefox 45 issue?
Hello, just FYI this problem also affects .webm files.
Webm files have a different icon than Flash objects (which use the NoScript icon), but they work the same way through noscript with a clickable placeholder box. Since FF45 webm embed objects no longer play properly. If you click on a webm it acts like you clicked on a link instead of bringing up the click-to-play confirmation box. Also if you click through that link and bring up the webm in a separate window, clicking on the webm placeholder simply refreshes the page. In order to get the webms to work I have to specifically go into the noscript rightclick menu and enable that specific object.

It should be fixed in latest development build 2.9.0.10rc1, thank you.

Working (at least click-to-play is now opening, playing the video as expected).
