noscript immediately forgets domains I allow
Im currently on FF 37.0.2
For a while now, several months at least, i keep having to re-allow domains I allowed a minute ago.
For example, I go to abc.com. I see the domains that are blocked. I allow abc.com and the page reloads and I can see abc.com is now allowed in NS. I browse the page a bit, maybe goto to another page on the site and all of a sudden abc.com is blocked again and I need to allow it once more. Typically the second time holds.
This didnt just happen once or twice but almost every new domain I allow.
Its infuriating. especially on a site that Im filling out a form and already allowed and then i discover NS blocked again and I cant submit and typically lose everything i filled into the form...
Is this a known issue or something unique?
Thanks!

Can we see screenshot of your NoScript menu when a site is forbidden but you think it shouldn't be?

Re: noscript immediately forgets domains I allow
this is a site just an hour ago I marked its domains as allowed.
I did that and went to a meeting. now im back from the meeting and want to continue using it. I can see that everything is disallowed again...

Fixed, thanks.
That's really weird.
Did you Allow or Temporarily allow those nespresso sites?
Do other settings save?

Check in your Profile folder for duplicated file names. Perhaps something like prefs.js-1 prefs.js-2 prefs.js-3 ...

I only have prefs.js in my profile folder (mac: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Firefox/Profiles/...)Check in your Profile folder for duplicated file names. Perhaps something like prefs.js-1 prefs.js-2 prefs.js-3 ...
I definitely allowed the domains (not temp allowed). That's really weird.

Im not sure what you mean by other settings.Do other settings save?
Just checked in FF about:config and I can see that there are many settings in this namespace: services.sync.prefs.sync.noscript.* and they are all set to true (user set). I wonder if that could be causing an issue with it trying to sync and maybe overwriting my local settings instead of propagating them out?

Well, do you use Firefox Sync? If so that is possible, if not that should have no effect...poeticgeek wrote:Just checked in FF about:config and I can see that there are many settings in this namespace: services.sync.prefs.sync.noscript.* and they are all set to true (user set). Re: noscript immediately forgets domains I allow
I do use FF sync but I dont understand why that would cause NS to revert domains I allowed minutes before...

Re: noscript immediately forgets domains I allow
If it thinks a computer *without* those domains Allowed is the "source" machine?
Something like this:
1) You Allow domains
2) You walk away, leaving Firefox open
3) Firefox sync runs, pulling data from another machine as the "source" and overwriting the NoScript whitelist with that of the other machine
(May or may not be it. Just guessing.)

Re: noscript immediately forgets domains I allow
It could be that this is whats happening but the thing is that this setting (in about:config) "noscript.sync.enabled" is set to false. I did turn it on at one point because Id hoped it would sync NS domains between my machines but that didnt do anything so I turned it back off.barbaz wrote:If it thinks a computer *without* those domains Allowed is the "source" machine?

I will try and turn off all of the settings in this namespace: "services.sync.prefs.sync.noscript.*" and see if it helps.
thanks
