NoScript crashed so I had to uninstall from FF and re-install it. Now all my White List entries are gone. Is there a database file that contains all the past settings I used to include or exclude websites that I can import? I keep backups of my computer system on a daily basis so if someone can tell me where to find this file I will restore it to NS.
Thanks.

In what way did NoScript crash?

AFAIK, your settings, stored in prefs.js should be unaffected.
> database file that contains all the past settings
[NoScript & far more] settings are stored in prefs.js, in your Profile folder.
ABE settings, if you've had any other then defaults are within an ABE directory tree in your Profile folder.

Actually they're stored in prefs.js with the rest of NS settings (noscript.ABE.rulesets.* prefs).therube wrote:ABE settings, if you've had any other then defaults are within an ABE directory tree in your Profile folder.

Guess that goes to show just how long I've had my current Profile.
The /ABE/ directories are dated 06/10/2011 & the .abe files are 12/09/2010 .
(I might just archive them, for prosperity.)

Re: NoScript crashed had to reinstall White list gone?
In what way did NoScript crash?
All of a sudden Noscript was showing Allow Scripts Globally for all web sites that I visited with no way to turn it back off so I uninstalled and reinstalled NS.
Now all of my original White list is gone so that every site I go to has to be re-white listed.
If I restore a previous prefs.js from a previous backup, I'm worried that it might change other settings (nothing to do with NS) that have been changed since the last prefs.js. Are you saying that there is no file that stores the white list that I can restore without restoring the whole prefs.js file?
Can the white list be extracted from the prefs.js file?

Re: NoScript crashed had to reinstall White list gone?
the whitelist is the pref "capability.policy.maonoscript.sites" so you're probably best off shutting down all Fx instances, with a text editor copying *only* that one entry from your old prefs.js over the same entry in your new prefs.js, save / quit text editor, then restart Fx
