Remembering our friend Tom T.

Post by GµårÐïåñ »

It is my unfortunate and sad duty to inform everyone here that our friend and fellow mod Tom T. has passed away.
It was his wish that I inform those I saw fit and I decided that those of us here would want to know.
He succumb to his long running battle with advanced stage cancer on December 2nd, 2013 in the early morning hours. Please observe a moment of silence, think of him, or pray depending on your own personal belief system as he will be missed. Thank you for the consideration, I don't have the same gift of gab as he did.

Sorry to hear.
He'll be missed.
I knew he'd been absent of late, & I'd just thought that he was taking a break, or that life had caught up with him, but I didn't think in that manner.
If you're able, pass our thoughts on to his family.

I received this sad news on December the 14th, my birthday, and had planned to release an announcement on January the 2nd, one exact month after the fact, but GµårÐïåñ, likely the most intimate friend of his on this board, beat me at it and did it well.

Many of us know how knowledgeable, balanced, witty and human Tom T. (AKA Tommy Turtle) was.
All of us know how fundamental and valuable his contribution to this community (and others) has been.
Even when it was clear that his time was quickly expiring, he had thoughts for us and made arrangements for a smooth transition.

I miss you, Tom.

I know I have not logged in for quite some time, and I know this is late-coming, but rest in peace for ever more. Death is a part of life and though humans grieve differently for whatever reason it is a relief to know he is no longer suffering.
