history disabled

i downloaded flahgot from mozzila for firefox 38 and though i had set it up right, but when i use control-j or try to open downloads tab it is blank-empty ,so i donot have my history anymore and i donot know how to recover-get it back
from a breff lock though the forum and a subject search i cannot find any mention of that does any body know what has happend and how to recover from it
i use win7-64 with firefox 38 with a fair number of addons
