Automatically send to jdownloader

Post by Jayz »

Is it possible to do this?

I see there is an automatically start downloads option, but i'd like to automatically send any video flashgot finds without having to tell it to.

You should be able to do it by selecting JDownloader, if not already detected for you, configure the list of extensions, or intercept all downloads, select it under download media as well and achieve what you are looking for.

If not, then perhaps Giorgio can provide a tweak in the instructions for you.

its detected fine, i can manually click on the flashgot icon to send files without any problems.

i wish to be able to send without any interaction at all though.

If you are asking for it to automatically downloaded every video it discovers, that is not the function it was built to perform, it is more of a scalpel than a machete.

If you are technically inclined, you can probably write a script using either GM or TM to have it initiate the downloads and in conjunction with what I suggested 'intercept all downloads' which is not recommended and/or a specific list of extensions, then the initiation of those downloads will in theory in conjunction with the setting within FG give you the desired effect. But again, I don't recommend that approach as it can get very bandwidth intensive, resource abusive and result in a lot of junk being downloaded. Now, you may not care about that, so that's why I suggested the script route but I would seriously reconsider this approach in general.

Unless you want to go to a porn site, or whatever, no judgement or implication here, and have it download everything it finds, in which case, all the power to you and the script solution will do what you want but I HIGHLY DOUBT, Giorgio will ever implement just as a broad policy of behavior within FG but then again I am not him, so he might very well see a benefit to it, at which time it is for him to implement or not. But do note that he has been quite busy converting the code to the new system used by Moz so I doubt he will feel compelled to add any feature such as this or another at this point or anytime in the near future, even if he does feel it is worth it.

I will ask him to take a look here, if he hasn't already, and share his thoughts on it. Who knows, I might have missed a functionality already existing that he can point to, or if not he can at least state if he wish to include this now or in the future or if at all. That's the best I, or anyone here I suspect, will be able to do for you. Hope that is enough.

Not automatically download, automatically send it to jdownloader.

jdownloader will handle the rest.

Basically like this

You load up the page with the video, flashgot detects there is a video (and starts flashing) then automatically send that file to jdownloader.

the only thing i'm asking is the ability to remove the extra click that needs to be done. An option in the general tab inside options menu would work.

I understood exactly what you meant and the use of the term download was in that regard, that's what sending it to JD is doing, downloading it. I am not debating semantics as what I said still applies.

I have contacted Giorgio already and if/when he gets around to it, he will comment on it here.

No, there's currently no way to do that automatically.
Maybe to be put in my TODO list after porting FlashGot to WebExtensions (which means it would take quite a bit of time, sorry).
