Basic Newbie Question

I attempted to read that huge list of FlashGot features, and my brain turned to mush!

I've use FlashGet as my download manager for many years. FlashGet can be added to some browsers as a plug-in.
It appears in the Context Menu as a "Download with" item. That's fine if you're selecting a direct download link.

I want to replace the Firefox default download manager with FlashGet, because I frequently download from cloud
storage (file sharing) sites. When I select a link at a file sharing site, the browser opens its "Save as" box and
launches the default download applet. Some file sharing sites are flexible, and you can copy and paste the file
URL into FlashGet. Usually, this is not possible.

My newbie question is, will FlashGot completely replace the default browser download manager, so I can use FlashGet
when I'm downloading files from cloud storage sites?

FlashGot is not a download manager at all. Its purpose is basically to help you gather all of the links to content that you can potentially download, ready to hand off to whichever download manager you choose.
