Flashgot 1.5.6.12 broken on Xubuntu Firefox v55.0.2

I have been a huge fan of Flashgot for a long time, even though it does not download every possible video I watch. Some are protected and some are live, neither of which always works, though some do.

However, with this latest release, I have noticed that in Firefox, videos that are composed of multiple segments do not download or re-integrate properly. I get the first segment only, then all the rest are either extensions of the first part that never complete or are marked as "already completely downloaded," even though no additional files show up. Neither VLC or MPlayer will play these fragments.

To my surprise this seems to work fairly well in Seamonkey (2.30 on Ubuntu). However, I only use SM when I have to (and I only use FF for this sort of thing because you don't have a Chrome plug-in - any chance of that? :-).

If there is a setting or something I'm missing, please let me know. I'd be happy to assist in resolving this any way I can. I program in C++ and Bash, so no PHP or Ruby (yet).

Thanks!

URLs?

What is FF 55.0.2 or how does it relate to Mozilla FF?

Depending on how a movie is "fragmented", the individual fragments may not be playable in & of themselves.
