(Tip) How to fix Flashgot and Menu Wizard addon conflict

Post by LL25255252 »

After flashgot stopped working for me (not finding videos and even "more options" was broken) I found that the cause is a conflict with another addon - the Menu Wizard addon - an addon which helps removing, moving and renaming menus and menu items.

Running Flashgot and Menu Wizard together cause Unresponsive Script (with a flashgotOverlay.js:398 warning) when you open the main-context-menu (right-click on any page).

This is my solution to the conflict.
Two things are needed :

1. Menu Wizard > Main Context Menu > Untick The Flashgot box
So from now on flashgot won't be displayed in the context menu. I don't mind it b/c I don't use flashgot with the context menu anyway).

2. "Hide disabled commands" box must be unchecked.

3. (optional) If after that you still have problems try clearing the cache, removing cookies and even uninstalling these addons, restart and re-installing them with the above settings.

So, for usesrs who use both addons:
Has my solution worked for you ?
Do you have another solution for that conflict ?

Tested on a new/fresh FF profile
Flashgot V. 1.5.6.12
Menu Wizard 2.0.8
Firefox 37.02
Win7 x64

Thanks for investigating this. NB The Menu Wizard addon page mentions that it is not designed to work well with other addons.
