Glinks Surrogate Does Not Working With CSE

Gecko 44.0, NS 2.9.0.4rc1
first, modify the sources value to include cse:
But it still does not working, seemingly ineffectual on the page. Tried inserting alert() as debug - alerts consistently showed on mouse over (alert-spam warning!), but nothing on mouse down or mouse click, which is when it's needed here 
Suggestions?

Installing NoRedirect makes things more obvious, but can also be seen when hold mouse down on the links
