I tried uninstalling ff47 and installing ff28. 28 fired up fine but when I tried to install noscript, ff prevented it AGAIN.
My guess is that there are some ff47 files in root that were not removed when I uninstalled it.
My wife prolly won't like it but I think I am gonna have to root her tablet so I can get all of the ff files deleted.
I am sure there are some system files that will have to be gone though to get all of the references to ff cleared out too but, I am not a hacker at all and have no idea how to write code. This is gonna be a real headache.
Hopefully if I just delete the ff files and that will be enough to get ff28 to work and accept noscript.

Maybe it's too old to recognize the signature? Try download the NoScript xpi locally and use an archive manager (such as 7-Zip) to delete the META-INF directory out of the xpi. Does that modified xpi install?

Ok, call me an idiot, I fess...
Had I spent the time to read your entire webpage, I wouldn't have has all these problems, Duh...
This whole time, I have been trying to install your desktop version on my wife's tablet. Doh...
So I just re read which ff version to install, did that and downloaded your NSA++ and vuala, it works. SMH. Dumba$$
Anyway, just wanted to say sorry for wasting your time and thanks for helping.

One thing I noticed tho is that the S icon doesn't exist and you have to go to settings to see what's blocked or not.
It would be more user friendly if it was like the desktop version. J/S...

Re: [Invalid] Signed version/submitting to Mozilla?

Post by barbaz »

Whoever marked this thread invalid, can you please change that as nothing in this thread was intended as a bug report. The answer to the OP's concern is that signed versions of NSA++ are now available at https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/noscript/versions/ (scroll down to find the latest Firefox-for-Android-compatible version, currently 3.5a13).

@Noidly1: No problem, you're welcome. Image

BTW, it was ff46.0.1 that I installed.
Since then it has updated to 48 and NSA still works! WooHoo!!!
