Got it.

Yes.
Names, sizes, pages open.
SeaMonkey 2.29, tried in two different Profiles.

> someone who ran Windows, it ended up being the culprit for a (at least) 30 second hang on quit.

Not seeing that.
Two Profiles.
Smaller ~200 MB RAM usage, Quit fine.
Larger ~1.6 GB RAM usage, Quit fine.
Now on yet another Profile, that had an older (& no longer working) version of JSView installed, when I Quit that, it seemed, to take an intolerably long time to finally exit. At first I thought it was going to hang. Now if it was JSView related, or just extended housekeeping or just what, can't say. And not enough experience yet with 2.29 to say or to point to anything in particular. Or it may just have been a fluke.

Can't help you with that. I know really nothing of it.
Don't like it. Don't like any of those types of services.
None work the way I do, so I only put up with them, because.

If you could clarify the mod-notes, in particular these:

> *** DROPPING SUPPORT FOR GECKO < 27 ***

Now does this mean it won't work, or only that you haven't tested?

> ** Gecko < 32: this addon now requires browser.cache.use_new_backend set to 1 **

So in order to use this with < 32, you must manually set the cache Pref (which will not be default until 32)?
Any particular reason to specifically need to use one over the other?
Any problems when/if the name of the Pref (browser.cache.use_new_backend) changes (which I believe ? is FF's intent at some point)?

(I'm not going to link to mozillazine until tomorrow at the earliest.)

Well, you couldn't have, because it turns out the issue is two custom (personal) addons :( (not JSView)
*sigh* I'll have to investigate later when I get time.

It means I used APIs (HTTP Cache 2) that weren't available until Gecko 27 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=913807), and I didn't write a fallback for if those APIs are unsupported.

I don't understand what you're asking, please clarify this question.

Don't think so, because Gecko >= 32 doesn't even have the option of the old cache AFAIK (so there's no pref that I'm aware of).

Well I suppose a 32 user could specifically not want to use the new_backend, set the value to 0, in which case it would revert back to the old /cache/ ?

Thanks.

Note that 11522914 === me (didn't think an 8-digit number would be a good forum nickname ;) ) and that I did *not* ever test that JSView with Firefox or even PaleMoon (there's no PaleMoon version based on recent enough Gecko) at all...
