I'm not clear on just what they're going to do.
(I do know their intentions though.)
First thought was that, well, addons.thunderbird.net "has them" (the legacy extensions).
And TB says they have no intention of getting rid of anything, in particular as ATN is shared with SeaMonkey.
But now I question to what extent?
TB gave me the impression that their ATN was separate from AMO.
(My initial thought was that it was more like a symbolic link.)
[Heh, & symbolic, excluding the link part, pretty much says it.]
And then given that (depending on what you do, how you go about it) AMO may redirect to ATN & likewise ATN may redirect to AMO.
So if they are separate, just what lives on which end, & if AMO actually gets rid of entirely, then if what you wanted happened to exist there rather then at ATN... ?

Someone has done a website hosting legacy Firefox addons - https://legacycollector.org/

I downloaded a few XPIs from there that I already had on hand, to compare, and they're the same. Image

(Looks like this is not a complete set of all the legacy addons. For example, they're missing recent versions of NoScript Classic. And I'm not sure if they're deliberately not including the legacy addons that are available on addons.thunderbird.net?)

There is also a browser extension, Classic Add-ons Archive, that installs a searchable catalog of xul add-ons (that were formerly on AMO) with links to their current location in cloud storage: https://github.com/JustOff/ca-archive.

Neither archive is *complete* (though CAA is larger). Both archives appear to be limited to add-ons that were present on AMO when the projects were respectively saving its content.

@whoosh Is it possible to browse CAA without installing an additional extension?

I don't think so.

But I have it installed and can share links if you wish.
(I just sent you a few, NS and a few other well known ones, by private message)

Thanks for the links. So it's possible to download xpi's from CAA without installing the CAA extension, but currently there is no known way to browse CAA without the extension.

The LegacyCollector site is shutting down at end of this year -
legacycollector.org/ wrote:Since starting this, end 2018, in response to Mozilla removing all legacy extensions from its add-ons site, with plans to expand to include more, similar "legacy" content, a few things have changed needing me to re-evaluate both the need for this site and my desire to run it.

Most importantly I've received several threats to my person for running legacycollector.org - not the kind of thing I signed up for.
But hey, Internet, if that is how you want to play ball, I'm out.

Considering this, I've decided to stop providing this free archive and void my plans.
This archive will be shut down in December 2019. Merry Christmas.
They also posted info for anyone who wants to mirror the site before it closes.
