Adblock Plus - Web Extensions & Acceptable Ads

The plan towards offering Adblock Plus for Firefox as a Web Extension

Note the part about SeaMonkey & Thunderbird (not that we don't already know it).

It’s doubtful that these will have noteworthy Web Extensions support by November. In fact, it’s not even clear whether they plan to support Web Extensions at all.
SeaMonkey does plan to support WebExtensions. This is already clear. It will just take longer to get there, assuming SeaMonkey doesn't end up dead in all this.

For the short-term, yes. But if SeaMonkey lives on, that will actually depend on whether the ABP devs choose to support SeaMonkey when it does WebExtensions.

Just FWIW.

So, the #1 most popular Firefox extension, head-and-shoulders above any other in terms of usage, nonetheless finds WebExtensions to be rushed, immature, and likely to contain subtle or less-subtle incompatibilities and bugs. And they'll have to cut corners and drop functionality to make the switch.

No matter how good WebExtensions may eventually become, this is clearly being mishandled by Mozilla.

It's good stuff, Finally you can enjoy internet without adverts. I was using torrents website without add blocker and there was no chance to download it beacuse there was so many advert. That's the most useful and popular firefox extension

This thread is not about Adblock Plus in general. It's specifically about A) ABP going WebExtensions, and/or B) the Acceptable Ads Committee. Let's try to stay on topic here. Thanks.

I always prefer the Adblock vs Adblock plus. Because, I tried both of them in the past but the Adblock plus was not that effective in blocking the ads on YouTube and other video streaming websites.
