Hi users of NoScript,

It is more secure to use a search engine via https. One possibility is install this inside Fx or Flock as the scroogle search engine plug-in (the users of NoScript should temporarily allow NoScript to install (search) plug-ins via options, else it won't install off course, later flag it back in again at NoScript options for general added browser security):

Then there is also a Dutch search engine: http://ixquick.nl/
Load the main search page in your language and go to "my settings" there at the bottom of the page. Then go to Secure Socket Layer (SSL) / HTTPS and tag Enable

Search queries over https can be somewhat slower to receive.

Certain parties asked Google to make https searches possible, but this mode has not come to Google until now,

At one time, I had this set in Search Engines, I forget how, but found it simpler and saved screen space just to bookmark it at the top of the list, and eliminate the search bar entirely. No scripting required. You could put it in the Bookmarks Toolbar, if you used that. YMMV. Cheers!

The Scroogle developer, Daniel Brandt, is a long-time annoyance for G, and its spam partner Wikipedia (no guesses about whether I've swallowed the hive mind Kool Aid). My own experience is that Scroogle scraped away a lot of the top Wikipedia spam results for a good while, until Wikipedia recursed itself into every second reference on the net. That alone made Scroogle a very useful tool, security and privacy considerations aside, for a good while.

Then there is also a Dutch search engine: http://ixquick.nl/

This one is a very reliable meta service. Highly recommended for when you want to save time; it actually does a reliable filter job on returned results.

Well, it's a bit hard providing services for your data provision units when your market capitalisation is only about USD135 Billion.
Of course, this user is grateful that G supports Mozilla to the extent it does.
