JavaScript Restrictor, JShelter, JS-Shield,...?

Post by barbaz »

Just saw this - https://www.ghacks.net/2021/10/04/javas ... wser-apis/

I know Giorgio is also involved with at least 2 other similar extensions: JS-Shield and JShelter.

What are the differences between these 3 extensions? If I want to use one of these, what criteria should decide which one would be best?

Thanks

Don't they all link to the same extension "Javascript Restrictor"? Sounds interesting, when I have the time...

Good catch, thanks Asphyx. Who knows why the one extension has 3 different entire brandings, complete with different logos & different websites with different themes, and all of which seem current.

Anyway I played with it a bit and not only does it do what the ghacks article says, its "Network Boundary Shield" feature looks to me like a WebExtension implementation of NoScript Classic's default ABE ruleset (although I didn't read enough of the source code to tell if this one includes WAN IP protection).
