[RESOLVED] About the RequestPolicy shortcut

Post by barbaz »

Currently we have a board shortcut, { rp }, for RequestPolicy. That addon has been dead for over 3 years. And a lot has changed in that time.

We need to do something with the shortcut.

Possibilities I can think of:
- Change the URL to https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/reques ... continued/
- Change the URL to https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/requestpolicy-legacy/
- Delete the shortcut

Whatever we do, we'll need to also update Forum Rules #15.

Thoughts?

My thoughts tend toward uMatrix. RequestPolicy Continued still exists I think, but I don't know of any real advantage to using it over uMatrix.

+1

We already have { umatrix} for µMatrix. Using rp as a µMatrix shortcut wouldn't make much sense.

So you're in favor of deleting the RequestPolicy shortcut then?

Well, I probably wouldn't use the rp shortcut myself. It's been too long since I used it for me to recommend it.

... and searching of the other Mods' posts indicates that they either feel the same or have no opinion. Enough said, the shortcut is now deleted.

I'll edit Forum Rules in a moment, will add the uBO abbreviation for uBlock Origin, and make that the example.
