Why does this specific link trigger anti-spam filter?

Post by ReporterX »

Remove the extra space.

http://pastebin.com/7tc RStcj

The culprit is the random characters.

Extra space?

And you're speaking of the actual text link you've posted (& not something that may have shown on pastebin)?

In any case, not seeing any issue on my end (while not logged in).
I copy your link, paste it into a reply box, put in the correct captcha & it Previews without incident.

Extra space?
The space I added to the link because it would trigger the anti-spam filter otherwise.

You are the moderator. Maybe that's why it does not trigger the anti-spam filter.
You might need to try in a new account.

I have just tried, and it still triggers!
When I pasted the link (remove the space first) and pressed preview, I saw the following message:
Ooops, something in your posting triggered my antispam filter...

I've read elsewhere that there might be a "too many consonants in a row" criterion, maybe that's what's giving you trouble?
Anyway, what if you put the link in code tags?
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

Why such a rule? It does not make any sense to filter spam.

No, it won't bypass the anti-spam filter.

I was not logged in when I tried.

And the (text) link changed?
Now I see a space (between the 'c' and 'R').
Originally there was a unicode character in there.
^--- that's weird, I don't see where anything was done to the post in that respect?
