Re: pyload Support?

Post by agauchhhe »

Hello,
Thanks a lot for this job! This should be very useful to be used with Pyload.

I have installed the modified flashgot plugin. However I can't use it with Pyload which is installed on my NAS

pyLoad is not responding on http://192.168.0.24:9666/flashgot!
Please check your firewall settings and the pyLoad configuration for the 'ClickAndLoad' plugin.

Is there a way to make it working? I have tried to restart pyload after the activation of the ClackandLoad plungin. I have desactivated it and reactivated it but still not working... I have looked if the port 9666 was working with lsof as explained in:
http://forum.pyload.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1432

I have not looked in the log of pyload what is happening because I don't know where is the log file.

Thanks

@pgoeri:
I was about to include your patch (many thanks, BTW) in next FlashGot version which I'm releasing in minutes, but one thing stopped me: the need, according to the patch, to have the pyload download manager always flagged as enabled.
Is there any way to reliable detect whether pyload is installed/running or not, like we do for JDownloader?
Thanks.

Hi Giorgio,
thanks for considering including the patch.

I kind of expected this to be a show-stopper for you, that's why I had a check in my first release. (see svn diff -j 13 DMS.js)

But the thing is that a lot of people are using pyLoad on there NAS and not locally. That's why I changed it to be always enabled.
At first I thought about adding a button in the settings to manually "enable" certain download managers, but chose the easy way for now.

What are your thoughts on that?
I would prefer, if we could come up with a solution, that doesn't make it necessary to change something in about:config.

Another idea is to introduce a new "supported" flag (e.g. activeInSettings), which enables a DM only in the DM dropdown in the settings, so that the user can alter the url. And if there is actually a pyLoad server running at the defined URL, it would also show up in the list of supported DMs.

Cheers,
pgoeri

I had the same issue myself, it seems that after some time port 9666 is not responding properly anymore. Restarting pyLoad or rather the NAS fixed the issue for me.

You can find the pyLoad log in the top right area of the webinterface (if you are using the builtin one), but I guess, you won't find any info there. FlashGot simple just can't reach pyLoad.

Did you already try to enter the following URL in your webbrowser?

Code: Select all

http://192.168.0.24:9666/flash/

Pyload clink'n'load implementation isn't perfect. If the site you want to add links, contains accented characters in the title (for example "ęóćź"), pyload's click'n'load plugin crashes immediately with errors on utf-8 encoding. These errors are only visible on console (pyload debug option must be enabled). Take look on this post: http://forum.pyload.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2070
Sorry for my bad english.
Regards, R74.

Would it be possible to use pyLoad support in the V. 1.5.5.95?
or can I maybe alone? If so, how does it work?
Thanks in advance.

In other words, wouldn't it just be a matter of detecting the pyload interface to allow it to be enabled?
Currently, detecting pyload does not enable jDownloader in the interface. Given the fact you can check both a combination of jDownloader install locations + the interface running on :9666, that is more than enough information to tell if jDownloader AND/OR pyLoad is installed.

I also find it upsetting that pgoeri is not allowed an exception to your rule of detectability, yet WellGet is in the clear.

This seems to be the FlashGot/Firefox log file. You need to have a look at the pyLoad log file, as there is a problem with pyLoad.

As far as I remember is this the regular response if you try to open this URL in your browser. Nothing to worry about.
cedru wrote: How install the patch pyload_pgoeri.diff to my nas ? that can solve my problem ?
This diff file just contains my changes that I made for the FlashGot Firefox plugin. This has nothing to do with your NAS and is ment for other DEVs and GM (who should merge it in the official code source, but he doesn't)

Your wish is my command ;)

I released the updated version yesterday: v1.5.5.95pgoeri

Arffeh wrote: In other words, wouldn't it just be a matter of detecting the pyload interface to allow it to be enabled?
Currently, detecting pyload does not enable jDownloader in the interface. Given the fact you can check both a combination of jDownloader install locations + the interface running on :9666, that is more than enough information to tell if jDownloader AND/OR pyLoad is installed.

I also find it upsetting that pgoeri is not allowed an exception to your rule of detectability, yet WellGet is in the clear.
It's no problem at all to detect pyLoad and JDownloader separatly. But in most cases pyLoad is running on a different machine (e.g. NAS), and how should FlashGot know where to look for it? It would need to make a port scan in the local network area. :o That's why I enabled pyLoad in the end without any form of detection.

Thanks for pointing out WellGet. I'll look into how this application is detected.

Woah Woah Woah, you're fine in my books.

That rant was aimed at the creator of flashgot. Reread my post with that in mind.

No worries. I totally got you. I'm just curious, if there is actually an other software which is always enabled.

I am genuinely contemplating sending three prostitutes to your house. I love you.

You don't have to do anything with them, just get them to do your dishes or something.

Hey Giorgio, thanks for including my patch.

But it seems you missed a few files:
  • defaults/preferences/flashgot.js - I added two settings for pyload (url + autostart)
  • chrome/content/flashgot/flashgotOptions.xul - adding those two settings to the settings GUI
  • chrome/content/flashgot/flashgotOptions.js - loading setting for GUI and storing it

I also improved an error message in my google code repository to make it clearer, if there is a problem with pyLoad and not with FlashGot.
See:
https://code.google.com/p/flashgot-pgoe ... t%2FDMS.js

Cheers,
pgoeri
