Enhancement request

Post by damir »

Hi there, first of all I want to thank you for this great tool, I love it. Now regarding my request: I would like to be able to choose download manager when I activate FlashGot Media, not to be forced to use default manager from FlashGot options. For instance, I watch some small clip and I have Orbit as default download manager. FlashGot will pass media link to Orbit witch will redownload that clip. Since that's small clip, Firefox has its copy in cache and internal manager will just save that copy, It will not redownload entire clip again, bandwidth is preserved and downloads are faster. I don't know is that possible but I think it would be great feature.
Thank you.

Oh, yes, happy Easter :)

This might help, MozillaCacheView - View the cache files of Mozilla/Firefox browsers.
MozillaCacheView is a small utility that reads the cache folder of Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape Web browsers, and displays the list of all files currently stored in the cache. For each cache file, the following information is displayed: URL, Content type, File size, Last modified time, Last fetched time, Expiration time, Fetch count, Server name, and more.

You can easily select one or more items from the cache list, and then extract the files to another folder, or copy the URLs list to the clipboard.

Actually I think this feature would be nice, something similar to what was implemented in the new Unplug extension which allows you to dynamically pick which downloader you want to use. But I think, and I could be wrong, that FlashGot was designed for efficiency and fast processing and to cause a stop like that to pick which downloader might defeat the purpose. However, I could see that having that option present in the options for the user to decide might be a nice addition.
