Doh, I should have had a closer look at FAQ's! Thanks..

What about my suggestion of making NS accessible from tabs?
I guess this inst even accommodated for in FF's GUI library (chrome?) yet so you prolly can't do?

Giorgio beat me to it but not only there are keyboard shortcuts you can use from the link he sent you, there is also the sticky menu with the regular left click on the statusbar icon which allows you to make batch decisions before the tab is reloaded and it works great. Just something else to try instead of the right-click which could become annoying if the site has alot of components to allow/disallow.

Well how about that...
Would you believe i never realised you could left click?!

It seems to bring up the same menu but still is less tedious than a right-click.
I think I'll get more use out of the key combos though.

Thanks heaps everyone!

still be curious about what people have to say about my "accessible from the tab" suggestion...

Yes the left mouse click brings up a sticky menu which allows batch decisions which is less tedious on sites with alot of references but if keyboard shortcuts work better for you then you have the full list and you can have fun with it. Just make sure you don't have conflicts with something else. As for the tab menu, I am sure if it is a practical and useful implementation that Giorgio will consider it, otherwise probably will stay as is, I personally have no feelings towards it either way as I find the left mouse click sticky menu to be more than sufficient.

Thanks,

I'll experiment with these other options & will probably find they're more than sufficient.
Just curious as to what the devs think about my suggestion, but don't mind either way...

It's not quite clear to me how clicking (left or right) on an individual tab is less tedious than clicking on the toolbar menu half an inch above it... unless you have an awful lot of toolbars ;)
Cheers!

Not a huge difference i guess...
I'm really "splitting hairs" at this stage as the app. it near perfect!
I do tend to have a lot of tabs open but I guess not everyone does.

Cheers

Not a huge difference other than the fact that the left click sticky menu allows you to make ALL your decisions before the page loads and the toolbar and the right click reload or take effect on each and every single choice made (other than the ones marked untrusted). To each their own. :P

Since I seemed to have caused confusion, let me eliminate the superfluous and rephrase my comment above:

"It's not quite clear to me how clicking on an individual tab is less tedious than clicking on the toolbar menu half an inch above it... unless you have an awful lot of toolbars".

Cheers.

Re: Super Trusted Websites

Post by jm34harvey »

GµårÐïåñ,

OK, I agree. The feature you call "individual site policy" is what I called "super trusted website." I too am pleased that this feature is in work and will join you in anxious, expectant waiting. BTW Do we know what Giorgio calls it? If we knew the "official" name, others would know what we were talking about.

Your first response said, "Wouldn't this fall into the same concept as individual site policy style allow/untrust that has been kicked around for a while and I think Giorgio is working on already? I am personally anxiously waiting for a more policy based NoScript version."

By "kicked around" did you mean discussed in this forum? If so, I would like to add my .02. but I can't find the thread. Also, you said that Giorgio is working on it already. Do we have any expected date of implementation?

Thanks for your help.

John

I figured that :D Not sure what he's calling it yet but I have assumed that it will somehow be part of or related to ABE. Not sure though. By kicked around I meant that it has been brought up by people, even myself, and discussed some openly, some on the blog and some in PM. I think if you want, we can start a dedicated thread to this or just keep all the suggestions and discussions here as a way for Giorgio to hear and consider them. As for any dates of implementation, I will let him answer that because anything we say is just a guess based on anecdotal data.
