Just to note, since I was thrown for a loop by this and don't recall this change mentioned anywhere:

The totally new icon
Image
is the new version of the Image icon.

The initial 11.3.8/11.4 rc's check boxes had a colored background with a white check mark, same as in Simply Secure's proposal. This was good.

11.4rc3 check boxes are a colored check mark on a white background. Much harder to see and it hurts my eyes.

Could this change please be reverted?

It's even worse in the dark theme, where additionally the red text too is a significant eye strain.

I take viewtopic.php?f=7&t=26586#p105289 as the response to my feedback on the new NoScript logo. Thanks again Giorgio!

bump. Will the check boxes be reverted to be brought back in line with Simply Secure suggestion?

Also, 11.4.1rc3 introduced a weird gradient on the selected preset, making the left side transparent, which makes it much harder to tell which icon is selected. Could that please be reverted too?

Regarding the red text in dark theme, I played with the --accent-color a bit. In dark theme I find --accent-color: #ff0033 significantly reduces eye strain without making any dramatic color scheme change.

(To be clear, this change should *only* apply to dark theme. With light theme the existing shade of red --accent-color is good. #ff0033 in light theme would be an eye strain.)

While it may be a matter of taste that I prefer the less dark icons of the current release version (11.4) to those of the development version (11.4.1rc3), I think the gradient makes it much harder to tell which preset is selected regardless of taste. EDIT: Maybe it's the combination of both changes which I don't like, the dark icon may be better than the previous one, if there is no gradient.

Maybe to depict the eyes of a "S" only on large icons and placeholders?
On small icons, the eyes create unnecessary noise.

In 11.4.2rc7 the red text in dark theme is no longer an eye strain for me. Thanks Giorgio!

Thanks also for improving this dramatically, but it's still not quite there. Now the gradient only causes this problem when there is one script source listed in the popup.

Sorry, I wasn't getting notifications for this thread either. That snake looks amazing, I'm stealing it for the logo and the big settings icon. Facial traits are already gone from all the icons, you were correct about them being confusing and blurred.

Since to be done properly and not to disorient people further it requires to be updated in a lot of places at once, I'm delaying it a bit and getting more functional stuff done first. But I still love it and it's definitely coming :)
