Broken Facebook after update to 2.9.5rc21

Post by Semtex »

After today update to 2.9.5rc21 Facebook seems to be broken, not possible to navigate, sometimes info "You need to enable Javascript" , with disabled NoScript working fine!

Latest Nightly, Windows 10, e10s enabled.

Same here, non-e10s windows work fine, so it must be some kind of e10s change.
Similar failure on Twitch. Youtube is fine.

Same issue with 2.9.5rc25. Found even more pages that are broken in e10s mode.

Edit: It seems that the issue goes away after something in NoScript config is changed...

I can confirm similar functionality, in that I have to change something under "Options" and then reload the page before Facebook appears properly (seemingly) with rc29. Even then though, the functionality isn't fully there. If I scroll down, new stories aren't populating past the first few that are already loaded. And links don't appear to be working at all.

In rc30 the page scrolling appears to work now with e10s enabled. Also links appear to work properly. However, everytime I close and re-open the browser completely I have to still go into the NoScript Options and make a change, click OK, and then reload the page before Facebook will display correctly. Specifically, I have to go into the Whitelist section and remove an entry, click OK, then reload the page. Prior to that there's no content. After I do that the first time on a browser restart everything seems to work fine for the duration of a browser session until I restart the browser completely again.

Behaves normally without e10s enabled.

I think you've come across the bug I reported in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=22253
Basically, if you update from 2.9.0.14 to 2.9.5rc something goes wrong and NoScript sometimes ignores the whitelist. The only solution I found so far is to reset NoScript settings:

Go to NoScript options - Reset - OK
Remove NoScript
Go to about:config, type noscript in the search bar and remove the following prefs by right clicking on them and selecting Reset:
noscript.version
noscript.temp
noscript.options.tabSelectedIndexes
noscript.gtemp
capability.policy.maonoscript.sites
Restart the browser, install NoScript 2.9.5. Problem should go away.

Thanks, I'll give this a shot. Does this mean though that all Whitelist sites are going to have to be rebuilt through the course of browsing? A reimport won't be possible? Understandable if so, but that list is quite extensive, so would be good to know before going this route.

Thanks again.

Yeah, all whitelisted sites will be deleted, you'll have to rebuild them. I didn't try reimport.

Latest RC with same problem, deleting white list is not a option form me!! I've way to big white list to simply delete it.. On stable .14 everything works.

That's strange, I upgraded from rc32 to rc33 and my whitelist wasn't deleted.
