NoScript blocks vid content, Gmail/ other sites in Priv mode

Post by Semtex »

Problem occurs since yesterday Nightly roll out:

Visit, for example, this site: http://www.wiocha.pl/videowiocha Grand standard permissions in NoScript for this site, so You can start and play some video. After this enable private tab/window with same url, grand same permissions in NS: no vide content.... Disable private browsing - OK again.

If I'm understanding correctly...
Allow Global (otherwise not sure I'd figure out just what domains are needed), & I play the first video.
After having seen that it works, that way, I did revoke Allow Global, & only allowed a subset of the available domains that got things working.

I then right-click, Skomentuj (#) (that same or any other video) & Open Link in Private Window.

Click the Play button, & the video plays.

Working for me.

Now the clips that are "Youtube" are not playing in any kind of window, normal or Private.

Code: Select all

[NoScript HTTPS] Redirected Channel https://www.youtube.com/embed/xMzJD9pTW-M?rel=1&modestbranding=1&iv_load_policy=1&showinfo=0&autoplay=1
And the reason for that is because, at that point, I had not Allowed ytimg.com, which is needed for the Youtube playback.

Once I did that, the clip played.

Strange, not working on my side, simply black vid window.
Even If I allow global and site is completely unblocked in NS still no content, in normal mode working 100% fine. I need to test with other extension disabled. (Private Tab).

Best I can tell, that is audio only.
Restart in Safe Mode & see if you get any video (other then perhaps a rubber ad).

I don't need to restart to safe mode, If I disable NoScript then everything works fine.
Hmm, maybe this is something with OS, I'm on Windows 10 and latest Nightly. I will test few things, downgrade Nightly to build from 2 days ago, where everything was fine, and If this will not give answers I will make fresh profile with NoScript only...

So you do get both audio & video from this link, http://www.wiocha.pl/1355155,Rozmowa-z- ... sieci-PLAY ?

(I got an advertisement [movie] first, then only audio along with the display of what looked like a video player with the word "PLAY", in English, displayed on it.)

Sorry, my bad, this Vid is only audio, PLAY is polish cell provider and this is funny talk with call center agent.

This vid: http://www.wiocha.pl/1356079,Jak-wbic-c ... na-impreze is audio and video.
I hope You test on Nightly not on stable. ON Stable problem do not occurs.

This is one of another symptoms of this problem: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14626397 and http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14627351
This is a problem, white listed sites inform about disabled JS, and it is NoScript related.

I'd like to confirm that NoScript is blocking Javascript in private windows. I'm unable to use the rich Javascript site with NoScript enabled.

I can also confirm this in v49 (Developer version). Private mode disables Javascript regardless of the whitelist settings (ie: I can whitelist a site and it's fine in regular tabs, but in private mode JS is disabled).

I've been experiencing this for weeks since updating. Wasn't sure initially where to post (whether it should be a FF or NS issue), but it seems something changed in FF that's conflicting with NS based on the above bugzilla link so glad there has been a ticket made about it.

Locking in favor of viewtopic.php?f=7&t=21952&start=15#p83675 because there is now a fix:
