After disabling all addons it turned out that noscript causes a lot of serious slowdowns.
Best example are OpenStreetMap slippy maps, like on http://osm.org/, which work just fine w/o noscript but when it's installed (even if non active) after every click on the map there is CPU spike in plugin-container and 15-30 sec wait until something happens (until then the whole FF is slowed to crawl), and after that it just repeats the same, basically useless experience.
There seems to be nothing on console, or any indicator. It's happening for the last few weeks, maybe.

I confirm that the bug is fixed in v49 (nightly as of now, to be released on aurora in a month or so).
