Re: Cross Scripting Problem
XSS exception: ^http://tickets\.amtrak\.com/itd/amtrak$ Thanks! Worked like a charm. I had been reading through the XSS docs, perplexed as to why this exception was presented. I had " amtrak.com " in the whitelist, and assumed (I know, the mother of all foul-ups  ) that " http:...

Re: Cross Scripting Problem
An XSS problem with a different site from bell.ca. This displayed at the Amtrak web site (apparently recently enhanced). At the point this message was displayed, all I had done was enter the departure station, destination and travel dates. [NoScript XSS] Sanitized suspicious upload to [http://ticket...

Re: Can some one tell me what this means
I had been narrowly allowing " recaptcha ", either by a "temporary" or a narrow " xyz.recaptcha.net " at a few sites. I am pleased that " recaptcha.net " is considered safe. There are a other common "service" (for lack of a better term) sites popping...

Import of Whitelist
I am not sure if this is a user (me!) problem, bug or design feature. While exploring an site with links to "Facebook" (I plead the 5th! ), I managed to temporarily allow some AND fully allow a number of sites that I really should have kept temporary. Rather than revoke temporaries ...

Re: sacore
" sacore.dll " is a component of McAfee's " SiteAdvisor " (although the name " sacore.dll " seems to be used elsewhere!). If McAfee's " SiteAdvisor " is installed, their are three (3) methods to test whether it is the culprit. First, disable the " SiteAdv...

Re: Is default-deny for JavaScript necessary for good security?
I believe the user to be a shill as well, since I don't believe anyone can be this dense. Regardless of the purpose of the post, sufficient positions have been presented and the subject has been thoroughly debated. I vote we simply ignore this topic and not continue to bump it. Agreed. But if OP pe...

Re: Is this a NoScript, NoScript/ABE or ?
Hi Giorgio I tested both of your suggestions, with success, and have implemented the latter. Alan Baxter's suggestion, using Adblock/Plus also functioned successfully. The ABE method offers the " error console " messages, a definite plus when chasing nasties. When both extensions are invol...

Re: Is this a NoScript, NoScript/ABE or ?
Edit: I've seen it reported on the EasyList forum that a more general filter may cause problem with some sites. Does bonton work correctly for you if you add this filter to Adblock Plus? http://www.bonton.com/omniture/s_code.js Your first suggestion ("omniture/s_code.js") worked satisfact...

Is this a NoScript, NoScript/ABE or ?
While using an online commercial store site, the following occurred: 1. Site: " http://www.bonton.com/ " ; " Ghostery " alerts for a " web bug " (" Omniture "). (NB: NoScript did not alert for this). 2. I clicked on "AdBlock/Plus" to display the obje...

Re: Does NoScript block JScript in local files
The " fire.FM " extension is disabled, and Fx behaviour is well. I have belayed installing (actually, re-installing) "StumbleUpon" for the same problematic reasons noted earlier. I still run "StumbleUpon" in my test PC, probably the safest box here! Now that the existen...

Re: Does NoScript block JScript in local files
Not reproducible. Could you export your configuration to let me analyze it and in the meanwhile use NoScript Options|Reset ? Prior to upgrading to 1.9.7.9, I had tried the NoScript Options|Reset , without success. After performing the NoScript Options|Reset on 1.9.7.9, all is functioning correctly....

Re: Does NoScript block JScript in local files
I have also been following a similar thread ("RESOLVED: FILE:// problems ...."). I have just upgraded to 1.9.7.9, and the "FILE://" problem still exists. One small change to the earlier post: adding "FILE://" to the whitelist is now possible (earlier, the "Allow&qu...

Re: Bug with multiple Tabs open -
The tip in the FAQ should do the trick for you. http://noscript.net/faq#qa5_2, i.e. toggle the about:config pref noscript.autoReload.allTabs to false. It's also documented on the NoScript features page: http://noscript.net/features#options Does the above setting also apply to revoking temporary per...

Re: Does NoScript block JScript in local files
I have a similar problem regarding local files with javascript: I've use a local file which contains javascript as my firefox-home-page and told noscript to allow "file://". This always worked but lately Noscript drops the permission for "file://" from time to time. (I've upgrad...
