Re: Sniffing Browser History with NO Javascript
Well, I had the same problem with SafeHistory when I used it. E.g., in forums no threads were marked as read when using the back button. That was an implementation bug, not a design one: the concept of SafeHistory is that sites can "know" if a certain page has been visited or not only if ...

Re: Sniffing Browser History with NO Javascript
It makes turning on off the new Fx 3.5 layout.css.visited_links_enabled about:config preference to false sound like a convenient fix ;) (Yes, in Firefox 3.5 you can actually defeat this attack at the price of not seeing any history feedback inside the pages you visit). Well, I had the same problem ...

Re: Sniffing Browser History with NO Javascript
Will look at Ref Control, thanks. I'm a long-time user of RefControl - a good tool, indeed. I think what its author wrote on http://www.stardrifter.org/refcontrol/#help : Additionally, you can specify the default behavior for any site not in the list. You can set this to something other than Normal...

Re: Google Analytics biggest privacy threat
I don't have a problem with RAM usage, running a very lean system with plenty of RAM. RequestPolicy is not supported by Fx 2, which I choose to use for reasons not relevant here. Other than that, consider that one add-on might have an undiscovered flaw, or a regression in an update. Or a new threat...

Re: Google Analytics biggest privacy threat
Not sure if this threat is something new, I have been against it and blocking it since day one. ANY tracking in my opinion is violation of privacy, heck we already have enough, why willingly ask for more? I block their tracking along with hundreds more using host files, explicit permissions, ns, ab...

I'm already using that version but the problem persists.Giorgio Maone wrote:It was a bug with the default file creation permissions on Ubuntu, fixed in 1.9.3.7 latest development build.

Re: ABE "?"
Yes, it points at http://noscript.net/help/ABE (which is meant to be part a more general help system), but at this moment the page is still missing and noscript.net redirects every 404 not found to the root path. Thanks, Giorgio, that page now exists but I'm a little bit confused. It says: "A ...
