Re: How to troubleshoot intermittent randomly blocking allowed media?

you could throw some debugging code into media.js & that might point out what is going on? I have no idea what debugging code to add or even what to have debugging code look for there? (And while the message does says, & media.js agrees that this is NoScript, the GUID (...3232) is in fact, ...

How to troubleshoot intermittent randomly blocking allowed media?

While browsing media on Soundcloud today, I noticed that randomly some tracks would not play. The playback position indicator would rush through the track and no audio was playing. Getting it working required reloading the page several times. Happened to look in the Terminal after this happened in a...

Re: Feature request: Lock tab to current domain

Thanks for linking the Github issue here. For the benefit of the NoScript's Github community, and for Giorgio's benefit if he happens to see the Github issue first, could you please also include the link to this forum thread in the Github issue?

Re: Feature Request: "Form may not submit without javascript enabled" alert at the top of pages with javascript-based fo

What I don't have is the familiarity with is the specific way in which the extension disables javascript. NoScript uses a combination of Content-Security-Policy manipulation and blocking requests via the webRequest API. It wouldn't be possible to check for those and then parse the scripts for addEv...

Re: Feature Request: "Form may not submit without javascript enabled" alert at the top of pages with javascript-based fo

The event listeners don't exist until Javascript is allowed. And they can't be determined in advance: not only is there no way to know how blocked scripts would call addEventListener(), it isn't even possible to be sure where the relevant event listener(s) would get attached - could be a capturing l...

Re: Feature Request: "Form may not submit without javascript enabled" alert at the top of pages with javascript-based fo

Unfortunately it's not technically possible to determine for sure whether a form requires Javascript or not, sorry. I usually just assume forms require Javascript. If filling out a form takes you "5 minutes, 15 minutes, 45 minutes", it's likely something important and/or sensitive, so you ...

Re: Feature request: Lock tab to current domain

Btw I just saw there is a github page: https://github.com/hackademix/noscript/issues Just wondering if I better should have posted the feature request there? I don't see any advantage to doing that at this point. Quoting myself from another post - We have nothing against posting a NoScript issue bo...

Re: do you realy need donations?

Just a moderator heads-up that politics is EXTREMELY polarized for some years now, therefore do not make any political posts on this forum, as such content would quickly make Forum Rules #4 unenforceable. Thanks for understanding.

Re: Feature request: Lock tab to current domain

I don't know what Containers are. Are you referring to this extension? No, I'm referring to the built-in Firefox feature Firefox Containers, which you can enable by going about:config > set privacy.userContext.ui.enabled to true. You can then go to about:preferences > General > Tabs, check "En...

Re: No script blocks after removal

Blatant violation of Forum Rules #4 in multiple ways, and post is useless anyway as no actionable/investigatable details of the issue were given. Locking and binning.

Reading and abiding the forum rules is required if you wish to use this board.

Re: Feature request: Lock tab to current domain

NoScript is a security tool. Looking at that use case from a security perspective, one way to achieve it would be to reintroduce ABE to NoScript. Then you could write ABE rule(s) to perform the type of locking you want. If you don't always want the locking for a site, your locking rules could be wri...
