Re: Firefox hangs with large ABE rule
I made the necessary modifications to the above script (and consequently the generated rule also changed); I've edited the pastebin content to reflect this. Thanks for the pointers, Giorgio. I'm quite satisfied with the results; seems like I can use this as a lightweight ad-blocking tool on some of ...

Re: Firefox hangs with large ABE rule
I wrote a "converter" based on Giorgio's hints (thanks!). However, Noscript doesn't seem satisfied with the regex and gives an error: "line 2:6 no viable alternative at character '?'". The converter: http://pastebin.com/2upXX3yd The generated rule, run on hpHosts ATS: http://past...

Firefox hangs with large ABE rule
I have a rather large ABE rule generated from the hpHosts ATS list. However, it seems that with large ABE rules, Firefox's hangs whenever I try to open the error console, and I have to terminate Firefox manually.
What changes needed to the ABE rule so that the problem does not occur?

ABE blocks loading of page - is it normal?
While fiddling with ABE, I found one interesting feature: it can block pages from being loaded! I can do something like: Site .example.com Deny ... and when I type .example.com in the address bar (or click a link) I get: Request { GET http://example.com <<< https://www.google.com/search?q=example.co...

Re: ABE rules triggering messages for some rules
Scripts globally allowed, no sites in untrusted. All other settings are same as the defaults. I can't post anything from the browser console here due to the spam filter, but the general structure is: [ABE] <<site>> <action> on {<request type> <url> <<< <document> - <number>} USER rule: <ruleset> To ...

[Resolved] Can't disable Flashgot context menu
I downloaded FlashGot today, configured it and everything is running fine here on FF 24.2.0 ESR. Only problem is, I can't remove the context menu entry for Flashgot. It seems to show the context menu regardless of whether I have ticked "Show in context menu" in Flashgot options. Am I missi...

Re: Is the spam filter stricter for Aurora/Nightly users?
it matters not who is using what browser The spam filter does look at who is using what browser, Giorgio himself admits it here: http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=11172#p45914 The spam filter would be much more forgiving if you posted with your true user agent string, rather a...

Re: "Save Link Target As" bypasses ABE
ABE is meant to control requests on a particular webpage, so it is probably not meaningful to have ABE block the "Save link target as" action.

I'm talking of the videos within the Arstechnica article referred above. Scroll down a bit and you'll find some videos regarding Moto X and iPad.

Re: brightcove.com videos will not load
Must have been something in the TOR version. You're talking about Tor Browser, right? I'm not using it - I do use Tor from time to time but I always use Foxyproxy + Tor. In NoScript, right? Yeah. I see the "regular" NoScript Flash placeholder, NoSrcipt logo upper left, Flash icon dead cen...

Re: Replace functionality blocked by NS without whitelisting
Loading of surrogates from a file reportedly doesn't work. But sticking the source in the file still works.
