Re: PureVPN
Hi, Thrawn. Wow, that was a fast reply. As for your deduction about my reference to "this site", yes, good call, I was indeed implying the whole InformAction/NoScript group. Thanks for the clarity. I appreciate getting your opinion about it, too. I think it would be swell to hear directly ...
PureVPN
I was wondering whether I should infer from seeing the presence of PureVPN advertisement on this website that the NoScript developer, and the rest of the team here at InformAction, would vouch for the integrity of the owners and team at that business? I mean, is the team at PureVPN actually personal...

confusion about whitelist and embeddings
I think these two questions may be related. Firstly, on the Embeddings tab there is an option to "Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too", which I think refers back to the checkbox options 'above' the sentence, not those right 'after' it. If so, why would I designate a particula...

Re: HTTPS on Advanced tab
Okay, thanks for the link as that helps clarify quite a bit of it. In the information from that link, it includes this statement: "...if a navigation from an encrypted to a non-encrypted part of the same site (i.e. sharing the same cookies) happens in the same tab, NoScript removes its ";S...

Untrusted site settings in Advanced tab
1. Can someone point to a link that gives an example of what happens when there is a "...META redirection inside <NO SCRIPT> elements? 2. How, for example, would NoScript "attempt to fix JavaScript links" on an Untrusted Site. 3. On this same tab for Untrusted, just below the last che...

HTTPS on Advanced tab
1. On the Cookies tab of this section, there is a checkbox to "enable automatic secure cookies management". Exactly what does it allow to make the browser more secure? When the box is checked, does it override the sections below it? 2. If I do not check the box, then, alternatively, am I s...

Re: Advanced HTTPS connections
> It does use a lot of negatives - a triple negative in one case - but it's not actually ambiguous. :) I certainly have to disagree respectfully with that idea. Unless you are making use of a personal English dictionary, then, yes, it is clearly ambiguous (pardon the expression) by any normal sense ...

Advanced HTTPS connections
When I go to the Advanced tab, then to the HTTPS tab below it and then to the Behavior tab, I see a section related to active content. These are my options: "Forbid active web content unless it comes from a secure (HTTPS) connection: * Never * Always * When using a proxy (recommended with tor)&...

top-level sites permissions
Can someone explain to me, or point to a link for an explanation, what security implications I should bear in mind when deciding whether I should enable the option shown on the top of the "General" tab, where it says "Temporarily allow top-level sites by default". Right now I do ...

Re: installing flash player
I am trying to understand how your recommendation about switching off tor would be helpful in this case: "If you can't download software over a secure channel, then switch off Tor or use another browser." I have to get the adobe plugin for FF from here: http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/. ...

rtsp video stream
Will FlashGot download rtsp video streams? I have a webcam on my LAN, which creates an rtsp stream, and I can view it using, for example, Quicktime. However, I cannot capture the file with Quicktime even though it is not protected media (it's mine). I would like a simple solution for doing so. Thanks.
