Re: New noscript interface

There is an other confusing detail in the interface. I just started to read the very useful "Basic guide to NoScript 10": https://forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=23974 (Thanks to blublevita for writing it.) There I find the following information / warning: There are four scopes: Default,...

Re: New noscript interface

I think you misunderstood. The clock, and the lock are both toggles. They turn things on or off, and their appearance changes in respect to that change. This whole argument to me is like claiming light switches are too complicated, why not have an ON button and an OFF button next to each other. Yes...

Re: New noscript interface

Things are already a little bit complicated (especially with the checkmark list), but I think you complicate them additionally, Pansa. ;) So I will try to look at some issues separately (also in order to understand them better for myself): 1. [...] the buttons are separate presets, apart from custom...

Re: New noscript interface

[...] I think this could easily resolve the problem. Every button/icon would have an exclusive function/meaning. And the current option chosen by the user is anyway shown in a clear way by the broad grey bar and the word written in it. For the additional button it could be something like "Temporari...

Re: New noscript interface

The mouse over-text shows the same whether something is on or off. There is no *status* that says that it is currently temporarily allowed vs permanently allowed other than the color of a secondary icon. [...] When I want to "temporarily allow", in my head it means I do NOT trust it. If I trusted i...

Re: New noscript interface

The earlier NoScript featured a simple, usable, one-column, one-click interface. The system was efficient and effective. [...] By contrast, the new NoScript presents a complex interface with multiple columns, multiple icons and drop-down menus. Some of the elements appear to overlap. From a design ...

Re: NoScript and Google search interface

Thank you, Pansa and barbaz, for your quick replies. I just wanted to add the following PS to my first posting: I reverted now to an older version of NoScript (I think it was 10.1.3c1) and the old (black bar) interface of Google was here again. After a short while NoScript updated automatically agai...

NoScript and Google search interface

It seems that the latest version of NoScript (= 10.1.4) is responsible for the following problem because it appeared just now (a few minutes ago) for the first time (obviously immediately after NoScript 10.1.4 was installed): Until version 10.1.4 NoScript helped me to keep the old-fashioned interfac...

Re: New noscript interface

He is referring to the context menu when you rightclick in page in NS 5.x A lot of people never used the NS button at the top at all. Some only used the status bar icon in the bottom. Some used rightclick anywhere on the page. Thanks for the clarification. I belong to the people who did not even re...

Re: New noscript interface

I almost exclusively used the right-click drop-down menu to change settings on NoScript, but that seems to be gone in the current version. Going to the top bar every time I want to change anything is really tedious. But in the old version you had also to go to the top bar (namely to the place with ...

Re: All settings gone - complete disaster

Well, given the fact that the new version of NoScript completely lost my carefully tuned settings since many years back, and noone apparently cares, [...] Don't you have an image of your hard disk, from some moment before the change to NoScript 10 took place? So you could revert to the old situatio...

Re: New noscript interface

@ oldmoz:
Thanks a lot for your friendly words. :D
Yes, I tried my best to help a little bit and at the same time to support and appreciate Giorgio's efforts in creating this new interface.

@ NoScriptian:
Thanks for your advice concerning the red/green padlock. I added it in my above posting.

Re: New noscript interface

The first thing I would like to say: A big thank to Giorgio for all the phantastic work he does for all of us, the users of NoScript! He did so much for us already in the past - and as we can see, he continues his invaluable activity even now, under completely changed circumstances which exist after...
