Re: [RESOLVED] 1.9.8 causing browser to get stuck on some sites

Are these last two related to the Mac issue of this thread? No. But rg needs to do some troubleshooting on their own system by the looks of it, so I'll just post my results here to maybe speed up their chase. Sorry if it messes up the housekeeping. Firefox freezes when trying to allow ytimg.com to ...

Re: Whitelisted sites in Recently blocked sites menu

The menu item's provided to facilitate access to allowing blocked items in particular contexts, such as toolbar mixes that liberate stuff in stages, isn't it? So wouldn't a user want the most lax definition of "blocked" possible in these contexts? In the example you're giving, Alan Baxter,...

Re: XSS problem at plime.com

Quoth tgkprog: now what was the reason to make the comments? on that site once you give enough news entries you do not have to enter a captcha every time and they have a lot of spam. That's what "heavily moderated" was indicating, in part, - - and it was a lot more complicated that just fi...

Hi Jorge
Any relation to the great composer?
Your post here is a good introduction to the Wild West - oops - Firefox community.
Be welcome and now go and work with Giorgio to keep us safer :-) You can PM him from here if you can't find his email on his site.

Do you allow the top-level domain manually or have you got the "automatically allow" option checked? Clean test profile, no other extensions, NS latest development=latest stable=1.9.8.7 Test URLs m m Clear cache, reset NS, navigate to each site, CTRL SHFT backslash. Page refreshes smoothl...

Re: NoScript misconfigured?

That sounds bad :-( I am not a user of XMarks or NS Synching, so please forgive this dumb question: You said I confirmed the popup to use stored configuration but noscript still used default prefs Was that popup from NS or from Xmarks? If it was from Xmarks, is there a way to change what file is sto...

Re: Attackers inject 55.000 websites with cocktail of Trojans

Close to my heart, luntrus - - these ars*wholes are targeting the older members of society who would have most to lose if they're looking to invest in retirement kinds of houses, and the least experience with using the web. And wasn't a user just recently asking for NS to allow unvetted code executi...

Re: NoScript misconfigured?

Appears to be a synching issue involving Xmarks configuration. The symptom seemed to be that NS in one machine was reverting to defaults at each session, instead of synching with the custom settings expected in the NS bookmark. The OP has probably solved their problem with their own actions: Now I b...

Re: Noscript installation error on Windows 7

Installation of extensions is under control of the Addons Manager part of Firefox. Your Tools|Error Console will show more detail, but for Fx novices:- The Mozillazine knowledgebase subset of "issues" m is a wonderful reference for all Fx users and in particular there is a great deal of de...

Re: Where is 1.9.8.5?

I see. Thanks for the info. Can't you just install Fx 3.5 on Linux? Of course, but I want to keep 3.0.x for a few reasons, one of which is for NS support, another is for Ubuntu community forum contribution. The Ubuntu supported package setup won't allow me (a plain non-coding user remember) to run ...

Re: exclude PDFs from blocking

From the features page m You can configure some exception to the Forbid Other Plugins option by setting the noscript.allowedMimeRegExp about:config preference to a pattern matching the content types you want to allow. For instance, setting it to "application/pdf" will let PDF document load...

Re: Uninstalled NoScript. Automatically re-installs.

This might save you some time Alan Baxter - from helping with a Vista system recently I've confirmed that the %APPDATA% default path for a Vista user is indeed C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming , as distinct from the default XP one C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data . It's a hid...

Re: Where is 1.9.8.5?

It's an Ubuntu-specific bug. A Win stable release wouldn't get away with that - even though others on the bugzilla boards are whinging about a few other dns kinds of bads. I'll find the bug link when I get back onto the Ubuntu system. - - not that the bug page will have much information... the wheel...

Re: Where is 1.9.8.5?

Quoth Alan Baxter 3.0.13? That's the version that's fully supported by the Ubuntu package manager - - which is streets ahead of any old Windows or OS X one. If I want to play with 3.5.x I can - but it's still flaky in parts, for example no blacklisted site warning. This post is from a live cd with P...
