Re: NoScript Breaks FireBug HTML Shade Box Model
For reference: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/firebug/VoC6sZrDObQ And here's the fun part -- disabling and re-enabling NoScript has fixed the problem. My guess is something didn't get upgraded correctly since I've been using NoScript forever. Regardless, I think we can safely disregard this...

[INVALID?] NoScript Breaks FireBug HTML Shade Box Model
Per https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... oC6sZrDObQ When NoScript enabled, the HTML tab's Shade Box Model doesn't work. Globally allowing scripts while NoScript is enabled didn't fix it. I got it to work by disabling the NoScript addon completely (Disable all protections) which is obviously n...

NoScript Documentation
Instead of hijacking the What is that little blue plus sign?? thread, I'll move the discussion to this new thread... Yes, I think NoScript could do a better job organizing and pointing users towards its documentation: The main documentation is noscript.net/features. Features is a strange place for t...

Re: What is that little blue plus sign??
The meaning of the NoScript icons are listed in the features listing at http://noscript.net/features . I don't know what the "blue plus sign" you mentioned means, tho. And FWIW, I agree that NoScript doesn't do a good job pointing you to its documentation. The two key pages are the FAQ and...

Re: Feature Request: Enhanced Revoke Temporary Permissions
Ah, right you are! I think this would have more of a niche usage, but the idea is solid. I'm for it. One question tho: As we both know from topics posted here, there are users that maintain dozens of tabs and keep their browser open for days. All other menu entries are constrained by the number of i...

Re: Feature Request: Enhanced Revoke Temporary Permissions
Wouldn't that be superflusou? Temp allowed sites still showed their own "Forbid blah.com" entry in the menu. When you use that, it revokes the temp allow but does not make it a permanent Forbid. Right?

Re: flash placeholder problem on usopen.org
I'm having a really hard time at testing it, because in Italy I'm redirected to a "Forbidden content page" rather than loading the Flash preloader. However I'm trying to reverse-engineer the page to figure out what's going on. If you can give me some tips on how to snag some debug info fo...

Re: content thieves
It's complete folly to think you can stop anyone from copying anything that is on the WWW. The very nature of HTTP and HTML is founded on standards and openness. For example, even if you had an iron clad way to use undefeatable JavaScript to protect your content, nothing is stopping me from making a...

Re: flash placeholder problem on usopen.org
Dunno why this was so hard for everyone to grasp after I posted the exact steps to reproduce this , but let's get back to the bug... I quickly reproduced this bug and did an HTML inspection while the placeholder was up. Both the href and title attributes of the placeholder's <a> tag had the console....

Re: flash placeholder problem on usopen.org
I had to go to usopen.org's HTML/JavaScript source to understand this, but I can confirm the problem. First, you must configure NoScript such that Flash objects are not allowed on trusted sites. Second, go to usopen.org and Temp Allow it. Third, click on Watch Live and it will open a popup window wi...

Re: Dojo Problems with NoScript Enabled
I've been developing a Dojo 1.3.* web application in FireFox 3.0.* -> 3.5.2 (on Windows) and I've never had any issues like this with NoScript. It's possible that you and I have something configured differently, but once I've configured NoScript to include the necessary hosts (for the example you ga...

Re: Whitelist Entry Comments
@luntrus: FWIW, I don't have YouTube in my Whitelist because I don't particularly trust it. It was just an example to illustrate that some services require multiple servers whose names are often unclear. In YouTube's case, ytimg.com may be discernible, but I don't expect anyone to remember a random ...

Whitelist Entry Comments
The longer I use NoScript, the bigger my Whitelist seems to grow. Unfortunately, as I look back at some of the older entries in the Whitelist, I can't remember why I added them. I hope we can all agree that stale entries you no longer visit could lead to bad things (the site could have been abandone...

Re: Where is 1.9.8.5?
It would be helpful if the Changelog was updated to indicate which are development versions and which are public release versions. A release date, a way to collapse the details on older versions (the list is getting looooong), and a way to filter based on public/devel versions would be nice too :D. ...

Re: NoScript & Tracking Cookies
NoScript isn't meant to manage HTTP Cookies and thus it doesn't stop the generic tracking cookies you mentioned. However, since it can be a security risk to allow HTTP access to HTTPS cookies, NoScript has an option to help prevent this kind of cookie hijacking (see FAQ Questions 6.4 ). If you are c...
