Re: [RESOLVED] no script icon is gone
Tom - OK, i get your analogies on tissue compatibility - except that each person really IS unique insofar as the genetic permutations, including various alleles, are practically "infinite", not to mention how their functions are affected by a myriad of environmental exposures ... IMO moder...

Wait, I just Found It - (this a perfect example of having to rummage around in the "bin" to find something i just put down :) ======================================================================================================================= You got the juices flowing ---- "The gr...

Re: [RESOLVED] no script icon is gone
Well - THIS is definitely "on pointy" - I just finished a response - took me quite a while (am 2 fingered typist and try to edit for grammar, spelling and clarity), pressed "preview" - took me, not to "preview", but back to "control panel" where, apparently, i...

Re: [RESOLVED] no script icon is gone
When this old rattle trap broke down a couple of years ago - i took it into the Apple store and they said - oh,no, we can't fix this - no parts. So i looked around, found another place and they scrounged up some parts "reconditioned it" and put it back together. Apple just wanted me to buy ...

Re: [RESOLVED] no script icon is gone
I like the way you think - to tell you the truth, i think the planet would be a lot better off if we fixed stuff instead of throwing it away and getting new "stuff" .... So here's to the Mr. and Mrs. Fixits of the world. Cheers!

Re: [RESOLVED] no script icon is gone
Thanx - I switched from Safari which is "built in" on the Mac, to Firefox for such things as Adbloc Plus and No Script (am now having problems losing Adbloc Plus since i started trying to get No Script back, which i am trying to deal with on THAT forum!), so if I ditch Firefox, guess i wil...

Re: [RESOLVED] no script icon is gone
That's why i got Noscript, for "security" purposes - I am glad i keep getting updates on that, so far anyway ... As for Linux - methinks that is probably quite beyond my lo tech brain capability. For what i use a computer for, i really don't need a lot of bells and whistles, and "spee...

Is newer always better? + Modularity-Compatibility issues
(Split as O/T from NS Support, "[RESOLVED] no script icon is gone" -- Tom T.) Oh, terrific :(, I couldn't update to Firefox 4 because my machine doesn't meet "system requirements" - Power book G4 has "old" IBM, not Intel, chips (tried several times before I discovered ...

Re: No script is gone
Holy cow! Eureka! By George, you've done it! It was the status bar - I clicked it and presto the stuff reappeared! I didn't even know what a "status bar' was. I feel like such an idiot - I must have "unclicked it" when i was scrolling down to zoom, which is about the only thing I use ...

Re: No script is gone
I guess it seems that i have to find something to click on first - the Firefox bar at the top of the screen has blank space to the right of Help, but clicking anywhere on it does nothing. On each page/window, at the top there is an address bar showing the url of the site, but again, no blank spaces ...

Re: No script is gone
Guess I'll have to take this to someone who might know what you are talking about - my track pad has one (1) button below it, just one. Never had to deal with right/left click that I know of and have had this machine about 10 years - I move the cursor where I want it and click, or double click, peri...

Re: No script is gone
Status bar icon is checked. Sorry, but i don't get this right/left click business - I have a track pad with one button on the laptop, no right/left. As for "help" and "customize", where does that show up - haven't seen either in "options" or anywhere else for that matte...

Re: No script is gone
Wait, i take that back - the only thing that shows up with the ctrl-shift-s maneuver in the little box is an option to "forbid" informaction.com", "recently blocked sites", "allow scripts globally" and "options" menu in which, under "Appearance"...

Re: No script is gone
OK, can't find the icon anywhere - but tried the ctrl-shift-s and that opened up a window in the upper right corner that showed what clicking on the icon used to show with options for "allow", etc. Is that what i will have to do for all my sites, now? Frankly, that is a PIA and if so I wil...

No script is gone
I have an old Apple powerbook, G4, OS 10.5.8, Firefox 3.6.28 (cannot upgrade either OS or Firefox on this machine). Problem - i left my computer on, came back, "woke it up", went to site, noscript icon was gone, gone on other sites as well - had been there earlier. I did nothing to change ...
