Thanks for your quick response, Alan. I've managed to solve the problem. While searching around my FF toolbar options I noticed that the View->Toolbars->Add-on Bar option was un-checked. I'm using FF 11.0. NS was working fine with it until today, when the NS icon has disappeared. Updating to NS 2.3.5 hasn't helped.
In the NS options, the 'Status bar label' option is still checked.

Would appreciate any assistance on getting this icon back!
